Hello everybody,

Most of the times we write a song and start looking for a nice video, or pictures to go with it.
This time we've done it the other way around.
Looking for videos in the public domain, that could be of any use, we discovered a video made by Carlos Vieira, which was posted on Mazwai.com.
We liked it so much, that we've made a song to go with this video (which we have modified a bit).
We sent the link to Carlos Vieira, who let us know he liked it very much.

Just about every time I think about
creating a vid you post one and I
think...naaaah don't think I will!

Writing the song to work with
the pre-existing video has got
be a different experience. Letting the
video drive the writing experience
is conceptually something I'd never
thought about. Suffice it to say
that it worked and worked
wonderfully well.

The word that comes to mind is
"ethereal." The whole audio
production just melds into the
video so well. Seems like they
were meant for each other.

We thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is such a great idea! I was thinking about this possibility just a couple of days ago. Poking around looking for available clips - first time for that, I saw a couple that I thought would be good if you had the right song... or if you wrote one to fit it. Inspirational! What a terrific way to find new song ideas... with a "built-in" video when you are done...

Very artsy!

One advantage of starting with the video is that it instantly gave you continuity... something that is often lacking when a video is created from a bunch of different public domain snippets. And this video was so very well done in its own right... the scenes were well-framed, the girl is beautiful, the wind on the cape provides such a fluent texture to draw the eye around the scene... the video is so good, this would have been a keeper even if your song sucked... but your song was excellent... at LEAST on par with the quality of the video!

Everything you do is so good, I truly wish you success in your musical journey. Some people wait to be discovered, others make their own success. Have you ever considered booking a tour, and letting the proceeds pay for the travel? There is an abundance of information online about how to book your own tour (at home or abroad)

well, we were glad we got our hands on this very nice footage.
As you may know, creating songs in BIAB isn't all that hard, but trying to write a different lyric every time is another ballpark....

Your music is so good, I think if people heard it they would love it. Tours are one way musicians expose audiences to their music. It is fairly common for artists who had a hard time breaking into the public awareness on their home turf to find an audience overseas. Just by virtue of being from Europe you would immediately be more interesting to local audiences. And there are other ways to cross the Atlantic besides flying. Just sayin'. ;-)
