Yo blud, chillin in the hood wots going down mah homies.
A follow up to old man boogie even tho it was written many years before!
Sonny, SRP, said some songs take days well this has taken 13 years!! Apologies for my mind then as it was written on prescription meds and alcohol!! Good days at the time but bad looking back.

It started as all loops from EJAY and last week I recorded the vocals and then ran BIAB for too many bars and in the key of the samples. I input a wav of the complete song into the audio track to find the drums. Then replaced audio with wav of the vocals, guitar and panning loops to add the rest of the tracks.
The story of the girl was based on a "lady" who had a HELL of a reputation in town at the time. She sometimes joins us for coffee and has "retired from her old ways" as she is now in her 70's, Even laughs at her own exploits but wants to know her nickname WOAH NO crazy no way grin

Get on down to Old man Rapper

well I ain't got time to dispel the truth
cos I got something I can say to you
like hey man whats your game,
said just cool down cos I ain't insane
I'm an old man rapper and I'm doing well
but I ain't got you no story to tell about
love and hate and all that crap
cos I am here and I was born to rap

I can talk all night I can make it rhyme
just give me a subject I can make the time
I said hey you girl you got those looks
you got that face from a do it yourself book

got nice white teeth and that's all right
the only trouble is they come out a night
put socks in side your bra
and make your face from a polyfilla jar
call you appendix and that's no doubt
cos anytime of day someone takes you out
tap you on the head and your tights fall down
something goes up when you go down

enuff of me heres a little bout me
I can learn my lovin' from my dog you see
the only thing is I can raise a larf
cos before I make love
I have to kiss your [*****]

well I ain't got time to dispel the truth
cos I got something to say to you
like hey man what's your game,
said just cool down cos I ain't insane
an old man rapper and I'm doing well
but I ain't got you no story to tell about
love and hate and all that crap
cos I am here and I was born to rap

I am here, I was born to rap.

What ! ?

Alyn, you never cease to amaze me.

I loved that track from the first beat.

It's got everything, including humour which you don't see in many rap tracks.

It's very typical of the rap style, but at the same time still very much in the Alyn style which we've come to know and love.

A classic my old Welsh pal.

Wow Alyn! I have to admit I was not a Rap fan but you just won me over with this song. Loved it! Everything that you did...the instruments, lyrics, the loop and vocals was right on target! Great job! I really enjoyed it!

Alyn!

Spectacular!

That is really well put together. All the parts work. You rap well...

A bit of Shaft opening up... nice. Mix in a bit of early disco... Better than standard rap. Chair dancing happening in Florida...

Awesome enjoyment!

Hi Gibson,

Yet again you show us all how to extend our creativity. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. You have a flair for this style!

Terrific work!

Great fun. (Wot next?). Cheers.

Pretty sensational is an understatement. I'm no big rap fan, but you have taken the abilities of BiaB to another dimension. Fantastic arrangement. Great lyrics BTW!

I am glad my sense of humour shows through as this was meant to be a "comedy" type song but when I added the BIAB bits it flew off in another direction!

Thanks for those kind words from a beautiful part of England

Thanks, I always feel my songs need a background to them, if there is one as it may explain the weirdness of them all blush .

Appendix didn't turm up for coffee today but I will tell her next time I see her that she has a fan in Germany. That'll confuse her grin laugh

So glad you enjoyed

Cheers Sonny,
Gangsta Paradise with Coolio really caught my ear all those years ago and I have always wanted to do a song like that. New rap can leave me cold.

I was amazed when BIAB moved in as the song really took off, in my mind, then.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Hi,
I posted the song for that very reason as there are so many good compositions on here right now, your latest is DEFINITELY included in that cool
I too had a country type song I was going originally to post but glad I didn't, also got to work on that now as you and floyd have pushed the bar up a little, sorry a lot, higher now.

thanks for listening

I see in the real tracks you used, some that I have already used in some musics of mine, and works very well.

Your song it is proof.

Your voice is perfect on it; nice the background voice too.

Alyn this is absolutely fantastic! Loved it!

Your rapping is spot on and your lyrics well they are just WOW!

"you got that face from a do it yourself book...
the only trouble is they come out a night..
put socks in side your bra...
tap you on the head and your tights fall down..."

actually made me LOL!

Keep up this rap comedy, as it is great!

You never fail to surprise (AND impress) me Alyn!! You can make me laugh, make me cry, and occasionally do both simultaneously! I think Bob said it best-What a hoot! This is very clever and very funny. Really enjoyed the back story too. You have an amazingly creative mind. Fun stuff!! Take care. Greg

Super well done!

There is a strong likelihood that this is the first rap song we've listened to from beginning to end crazy

I've avoided the genre having always felt that a, well, melody was part of music but WTF! I like this...and
not just because it's from a fellow forum buddy. It's clever, funny and assuredly not a put down
of the genre. I may be wrong but I suspect there was a fair amount of working in putting this
production together. You are a fountain of "what's can possibly be next?"

It's gonna be fun passing this on to family and friends!!

I have to thank an old Kiwi mate I met in London in the 1970's for the "tap on the head" line. SO true of some *cough* ladies I have met over the years grin

I am so glad you enjoyed my comedy rap, I like that term for it very much!

I too rarely listen to a rap song all the way through especially with violence and language portrayed in some.

You are soo right, a hell of a lot of work went into it, mainly finding the samples to use. Once BIAB got involved the song structure was easy in comparison.

Glad you enjoyed and I hope your friends and family go WTF as well grin grin
