This was my first co-write with floyd and we started with the PM here and then went to each others emails, in between I missed his last verse ideas which became the fantastic recording that he posted. Unaware of that direction at the time I sent him my last verses that were darker but reflected more closely my upbringing. They were just scratch ideas with one strumming guitar, all I've added is a little harmony. I do think that his song is better and I love it but you may enjoy hearing this version.

With the windows down wrestling in the back
The radio blasting out Summer Breeze
On a Saturday going to the Tastee Freeze
My old man
Never met a stranger, never turned from a fight
Saw both sides of the story, but knew which was right
Never talked religion, politics, or war
They don’t make em like that anymore

At forty he could barely stand up straight
From drivin’ all those miles on the interstates
Hard drinking put him in an early grave
A drowning man nobody here could save
