A new version of a song I posted a few years back, a song for Remembrance Day.
A song for the fallen of all wars.
Lest we forget.

Death of no one

The crowd stood silently with their heads bowed
And with tears in their eyes
Watching the march go by

People are openly crying
And not ashamed to show it
With the sorrow at whats bin down
As we watching the death of no-one
No one that has died

The band played the last post together
Marching in slow 2 time with their eyes straight ahead
For the men that we've not forgotten
They’re in own minds but not in our eyes
Watching the death of no-one
No one that has died

No one knows the name but the feelings just as the same as if they did
He could have bin a friend a friend of many years ago
But some how no that seems to be the fear we have to hide
So we silently watch the funeral
Of some one that has died

My uncle was killed in WWII and my best friend in Vietnam. I was fortunate to be able to see his name (Hulus Key) on the moving Vietnam Wall here in Chattanooga, then the original wall in Washington,DC and later the moving wall again in our home town where I was ask by his sister and brother to come and speak on his behalf. We had seven guys from my small home town to die in that war (one was awarded the medal of honor). I was one of the fortunate ones to make it back so I really appreciate you sharing this song. Tomorrow is Veterans Day so your timing is perfect. Thanks Alyn.

Really nice tribute Alyn! I really love the way the harmony vocals work over the sparse arrangement. Really enjoyed it! Take care. Greg

Yes he did and we couldn't agree more.

'No one knows the name but the feelings just as the same as if they did
He could have bin a friend a friend of many years ago
But some how no that seems to be the fear we have to hide
So we silently watch the funeral
Of some one that has died'

Superb tribute!

Charlie Fogle Thank you for listening, Charlie. Glad you liked my song.

Janice and BudThe words you quoted were a reference to the "tomb of the unknown soldier". The British one being in Westminster Abbey, London. So sad,so sad.

Kemmrich Thank you listening and for commenting.

Alyn

a sad song well sung.

Good listening.

I like the part with double voice.
