The Last Time I Cried After A Woman

This song was originally written about 5 years ago, a story built around one childhood memory. First it was a soul song, but I wasn't totally satisfied with it. Then this year, I added blues real tracks, then some funk tracks, but still it was missing something. I tried many bass RTs and MTs, RT #2524 was quite good but I waited for the 2016 version. And yes, the new soul bass RT #2611 fits the song almost perfectly (although it still sometimes plays double notes, even after RT update installed). I replaced the drum track with the new excellent funky RD and also the tambourine RD is a new one. Thanks to PGMusic for the great Christmas present, says a happy user smile

The chorus is lyrically boring, I don't usually write this kind of repeating lines. But I hope the harmonies make it more interesting.

Lyrics:

The last time I cried
the last time I cried
the last time I cried
after a woman woman woman.

In the kindergarten
two flowers on the wall
we were the silent ones
too coy to play the ball.
One day on the schoolyard forever separated
grieving, injustice was so hard to quell
then I decided not to shed a teardrop
for another heartbreaking farewell.

The last time...

I saw you kissed a boy
I didn't mind
memories of your wedding
I have left behind.
I let my dove go fly over the high walls
I was the one who was living in the cage
fed by the leavings, paid for sensations
a stone cold actor at the red lantern stage.

The last time...

So many tears of arguing
you could have taught to me
the success and hardship
the essence of the real love
remained mystery.

The last time...

Very good production and overall sounds great! I like the break right before the sax solo (which was nice).

Thanks Charlie for liking my song! I agree, the vocals are well done.

Thanks Sergio for your kind words!

Thanks Scott for commenting, I'm glad you liked the vocal parts, because I had to pay a little for that. But the end result is excellent.

Thanks Sonny for your positive feedback smile There is always a great sax player available in BIAB.

Another great post Janne!! The changes lend themselves to some wonderful vocal harmonies. Lyrics are different but very interesting. The arrangement/mix sound great. Really nicely done all around!! Take care. Greg

This song definitely sounds cool. The 'hired' vocals are well done.
At times they remind me of Alan Parsons Project....somehow.
I suspect that by: 'the last time I cried after a woman', you actually mean: the last time I cried 'over' a woman?
Smooth musical arrangement, nicely balanced!

Janne

Every so often something arrives that really demands attention

This starts off great from the first note, and commands attention.

What a great job Supreme Tracks have provided for you. This mix is nice, and the feel works great throughout.

Great hook in the song too.

Very good delivery for sure.

Thanks Greg! I'm always happy to read your wonderful compliments smile

Thanks Rob for liking my song. I appreciate for commenting the lyrics. Yes, 'over' might be lyrically more correct, but
'after' is closer to my ambiguous thought both in space and in time smile (that's how we say in Finnish, like watching the back of the person who is leaving...).

Thanks Trev for your attention to my song smile I'm glad to read your detailed report wink
