A new country song. Almost all Band in a Box 2016. I never tried country before. It was fun. Thanks again for listening and commenting. You all have been great.

By the Numbers

Girlfriend number 3, she loved her and I loved me
I guess that aint the way it's supposed to be
Bye bye number 3
Girlfriend number 5, long blonde hair when she was alive
The wind would blow it at me when she'd drive
No more number 5

Love by the numbers, one two three
Add em up and it's not enough
to equal you and me so baby we'll just see

Girlfriend 17, she was broke and I was green
She never left a dollar in my jeans
So long seventeen
Girlfriend 21 it was wrong but so much fun
I had to go her Daddy had a gun
Farewell 21

chorus

It hurts a little but it's over fast maybe it's not that bad
you live a little and forget the past and then I'm not so sad

Girlfriend 24 she's the last there aint no more
I finally found the one I'm looking for
Hello 24

Chorus

I had to have a laugh with the lyrics. Creative and with hilarity - lots

A good fun song, (I just hope none of it's true!)

zydeco, That was fun! I would try to keep the Drums centered. They seem to be panned hard right. Good vocal and nice editing. Good job on a first try for country. I liked it. Tom

Hahaha, you were a bit of a lad when young grin

a good fun song. And as Tom Adams said the drums seem only in the right channel but apart from that an enjoyable foot tapping listen

I thought I had a lot of Girlfriends in my day.......I used to introduce them as my future ex girlfriend.

cant figure that out. In Sonar, the drums are centered but when it gets to soundcloud they do seem a little panned. I guess I could try panning them the other way.

No, not true. I made it all up. I worked with a guy who was married 4 times and he referred to his exes as "Number 1" "Number 3" I thought "Wow, there's a country song in that"

Quite an interesting topic and fun song. Good to hear it really wasn't you but it was a fun listen. You have already taken on the task of figuring out the drum position so no need to go there. You have a pleasant voice and you used BIAB well.

Fun song. I enjoyed listening and trying to keep count of the girlfriends.

I really love this. Huge potential. With some revisions I think this is profoundly pitchable. This could just be me, but I think anyone you pitched this to (or was listening) would say "How come you didn't mention 1 and 2? I think you could do something with one like "one day and we were done" and 2 "three kisses and we were through" or something like that, then go onto 3. After that I don't think you need to count, but I do think adding in 1 and 2 would zip this up. Again, that is just me, but overall this is extremely clever and I think you may really have a commercial song here with just a couple of tweaks. Go and listen to Elvis Costello, Every Day I write the Book...that's what this reminds me of...

1st Verse:
C#m E
Chapter one, we didn't really get along, Chapter two, I think I
G#m E A B C#m
fell in love with you. you said you'd stand by me in the
F#m
middle of Chapter three, but you were up to your old tricks in Chapters
G#m B
four, five, and six, and?

(chorus)
E G#m A B E G#m
I'm giving you a long look ev'ryday, ev'ryday,
A B E G#m
ev'ryday, ev'ryday I write the book.
