Hey Everybody,

I am sorry I didn't get a chance to join in on the drinking song Floyd did.

But it got to me to thinking, and this is my idea of what happened on the way home.

Forgive me for not remembering the real tracks in here. I was DOA. Just search under rock. This is the channel where I put the stuff I don't necessarily want to be on my real channel, for obvious reasons.

Floyd, batter up. I was feelin' super goofy here. Please take it as such. I don't even know what I was doin' really.

that vocal must have been an effort ;-)
nice rocker, what realtracks did you use?

Rob
Actually I found out to the dismay of my family and friends that Real Band comes with Bass Station that has a Moog Synthesizer in it.

When I found that I knew I was in Pete Townshend Heaven although everyone has left the house and I am all alone now.

I programmed the drums and then played everything else. I just had to turn up the stack and do some windmills on my Telecaster once I found the Moog.

Don't try it though. I am warning you. You will get addicted and grow your hair way too long and it may be too much even for the Netherlands. It is like crack. Stay away man. Dangerous stuff.

A little raunchy there Dave. Cheers to that.

That's awesome! Great vocal - lots of energy!

And for a moment I thought you might have done a cover of THIS>>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClJLrxGClxk

We used to play that record at a friend's house, down in the basement.... I recall his mom saying she thought it was morbid.

David
Interesting production.
That monster vocal sounds a bit far back in the mix to me.
High energy song and really nice vocal.

To ease everyone's mind..... We all walked home from the bar that night...

Hay David,

Sounds like you had some fun with that! I like that you played most of it, and that you used that leverage to introduce recurring hooks on multiple instruments

I'd agree that the vocals seemed overshadowed by the music, but hey.. the singer's supposed to be dead! We should be glad we can hear him at all! ;-)

But seriously, this song has a live feel more than a studio feel, and it is all too common in live performances for the vocals to get buried in the mix... so that makes it sound all the more live.

Oh wait.. I just said "live" but you're singing about "dead" so maybe nothing I've said here actually applies at all.

;-)
Thanks, easy enough to fix, just a hair.

Thank God for that Charlie!!

Hey, that is very easily taken care of, it is just a slight tweak up as the bed and vocals are on separate tracks in the mastering file. I just didn't want to scare people.

I may repost on a "mixing" channel I have to see if the levels are right before I add it to my sync library. They can buy a "Who" song at a fraction of the cost.

Thanks for the comments!!!

One of the best Who impressions I've ever heard anyone do, David.

Nice job of programming those drums! And that vocal!

Well done.

floyd
Cool song!! I think the vocal could come up a little. I'd love to see the RTs used. There is a great instrument interaction going on-reminded me of When the Rain Comes by the Beatles. Interesting lyrics. Very enjoyable listen! Take care. Greg
