Bail Skipper (video by Pat Marr) A.Hugh Jiddyut

Thanks Pat, it's great to see the Jiddyuts in Action!

Not many people know, I once was a desperate criminal on the run
……. yeah I was arrested and sent to jail ……for Jaywalking……….
drunk……… and nekid in front of the police station….
in rush hour, pulling a wagon with a keg of Jack Black in the back,
by a pony dressed like Madonna. True Story

Got no good reason, don't know just how I got in here
Ain't drunk still in season, if so just give me another beer
I ain't no bail skipper, so call me a bondsman dear
It took me sooo long, to get this drunk
I'm real drunk

Drunk ain't no reason, the judge won't a lower my bail
I said that's treason, a puttin me under the jail
I ain't no bail skipper, so call me a bondsman dear
It took me sooo long, to get this drunk
I'm real drunk

Take care of my pony, watch out for that keg of Jack Black
Pay alimony, if it's still there when I can get back
I ain't no bail skipper, so call me a bondsman dear
It took me sooo long, to get this drunk
now I'm real drunk

Dang I never get that banjo ending right!

Hey Tommy,

From the first time I heard one of the songs done in your "Hugh Jiddyut " persona, I knew we needed to take the vivid mental images you created and make them real!

A pony dressed like Madonna?? REALLY??? well.. yeah... ;-) What kind of person thinks this stuff up?? LOL! The good news is you have an outlet, and you don't have to keep ideas like that bottled up!

Anyway, this song was full of opportunities to illustrate the lyrics, and it was a totally fun exercise listening to your song and trying to figure out how to represent it in visual form.

I thank you for giving me an opportunity to work with you on this... I think the end result is a good indication of what happens when two people who spend wayy too much time inside their brains step outside for long enough to collaborate!

There are places in the song where it sounds like the audience is singing along (as opposed to using public domain laugh tracks)... did you have others help to record the crowd noises? We want to hear all the interesting details...

all of Tommy's songs have that effect on me!

;-)
Standing O!, for both of ya...

Tommy - clever write and excellent recording and mix (easy to miss those facts when done this well).

Pat - you have out-done yourself! Your attention to detail is a delight.
The crowd grooving on the music...
The "drunk walk" in front of the station...
"drunk weaving" at the table...
the camera movements and pans...
the clock movement...
the ending banjo notes are timed perfectly with the video (vice versa, really)...

The ending is classic! Laugh Out Loud funny!!!

Home Run, y'all!

Tommy - you should re-title your original post to include "Video By Pat"...

glad to hear you say that, Floyd! I think Tommy's songs are awesome, but the view counter doesn't indicate that he's getting the attention these songs deserve

I really appreciate the fact that you notice details like that... any detail in an animation was put there on purpose, and sometimes the details only appear in passing as the camera moves thru a scene. All the characters grooving to the music took a lot of time, but its so peripheral its easy to miss.

I guess its true that if its seamless enough that most people don't notice, that means I did my job!.

One of the problems with music videos is that the lyrics tend to repeat, and there is a tendency to reuse the same animation for each chorus. (boring)... One advantage of 3D animation is that the same scene can be used, but viewed from a new camera angle, which makes it seem new.

Thanks again for posting your valuable observations... you have a keen eye to go along with your keen ear!

Hi Tommy and Pat,

great song and marvellous video. I love every subtle detail in it.
Tommy, how did you do that banjo ending?

Guenter
Posted By: Tommyc Re: Blame it on Pat Marr!!!!! Once again!!!!! - 06/04/16 11:56 AM
Thanks Floyd, Pat's attention to detail is Incredible! It took him a month, from the time we decided on the song. We started talking about it in April, and on May 3rd the song was ready. My attention span is about 20 minutes, on a good day. Anytime he wants a song from now on, I'm Ready! Thanks again Pat, You Da Man! cool

Thanks Guenter! The ending is MIDI that I wrote in Logic Pro, not too hard to make all the notes wrong! grin

Oh man, is that ever funny. It's so easy to get lost just looking at all the details and
have to start over...but that ain't a bad thing!

This just had to happen.

Gotta send this link on to some folks!

The audio and video are an absolute perfect match. Kudos!
We remain amazed.

Hey thanks for the encouraging words Bud and Janice! I agree that this had to happen... TommyC and I are on the same page as far as inability to take ourselves too seriously is concerned!

I really like Tommy's songs, and you can probably expect to see more collabs between us as time goes on... but right now I have some other stuff that needs to be addressed.

I agree 100%.

Plus the monitors for the band, the bartender and the fireplace. Everything about the animation is fantastic.

And the song is funnier that Hell. Great write Tommy.

I hope you two keep on collaborating!

This is a keeper.
Ah, Mario! Ya just made my day! Thanks for the kind words! I agree that Tommy's songs are very clever and they always make me chuckle!

Thanks J&B, it was way better than I had hoped for! Pat is the brains in this outfit! I tried to use his software, and decided it sense it had nothing to do with music, it was outta my brain-cell count! grin
Posted By: Tommyc Re: Blame it on Pat Marr!!!!! Once again!!!!! - 06/14/16 12:54 AM
Thanks Mario! I am hoping Pat will wanna do this again too! He must be wicked smart to come up with all the video details! Or maybe just as insane as me! lol
Tommy, I enjoyed the song. Made me laugh! Pat, Fantastic job with the video. You are becoming very adept at this. Tom

Thanks Tommy... I really appreciate your positive input!
It's interesting to see all of the various projects being posted here.. they all bear the signature "labor of love" look and feel, since nobody is being paid for any of their efforts.

Yet, as a group we all continue to labor (or play , as the case may be.. I suspect a healthy dose of both) at our crafts, and the only reward is the kind words of those who take the time to listen (and watch, when there is a video)

I don't take any of that lightly. We all have other things to do, and so I really appreciate it when anybody spends a moment of their precious time on the planet to listen and comment on projects posted here.

Thank you for offering encouragement and for sharing your own music with the rest of us.

What a wonderful collaboration! Pat you did a masterful job with the animation and the lyrics set a playful yet solid foundation to work off.

Delightful!!!

Lawrence,
thanks for the positive review! I always wonder what response my work/collaborations will draw from the people whose projects I admire most, and you are certainly in that group!

I agree that Tommy's masterful song writing made my job as animator very easy by giving me great visuals to work with! Tommy is one of those guys who has a bunch of excellent music he has created but which can't be posted here because it wasn't created with BIAB. I wish he could post it because his Hugh Jiddyut series (clever as it is) is just a small facet on a much larger diamond, and the diamond as a whole is quite impressive in my opinion.
