This is an older song originally recorded back in 2012.

The facts as best I can remember them. Band in a Box is playing the parts (steel, dobro, fiddle) in a country style with the exception of:

Acoustic guitar, mandolin, and acoustic lead all played live by me.

This is one of my favorite Christmas hymns ever since I was a young child first seeing the wonders of this holiday known as Christmas.

Silent Night

Hope you enjoy this song and this version.

Nice! This is one of my favorites too.

Great tone on the acoustic, just the right amount of reverb, and I like how you brought in the lead to compliment the mandolin melody before the vocal came in.

Nice job on the vocals, and guitar solo right on the money, very tasteful.

Loved the ending!

And let's follow that with a comment that is actually about your song... smile

A good version, Herb. I especially like the vocals with harmonies - very tight, well done.

I thought the mandolin was a little heavy on the Greek side. The acoustic lead was nice.

Great arrangement, Herb. Just when you thought no one had a fresh take on this classic. Nice instrumental work and vocals, too.

Keep 'em coming, grin

Herb,

This works beautifully. I liked the build-up to the vocal entrance.

A good example of combining BIAB with your own instruments.

Nicely played guitars and mandolin, by the way, and those vocal harmonies are top notch (and a great way to end).

Cheers

Herb, thanks for posting a beautiful song. For me this is one of the few songs that work well in either a 3/4 or 4/4 time signature. Everything sounds great. Thanks, Torrey.

I'm listening as I write this, the vocals just getting started, and I found the lead up very warm and inviting and the voice just seemed to come out of the mandolin.
