I wanna say something about this song , I’ll try to keep it short.
Basically Band In A Box is the best program I’ve ever used
for songwriting. I tried out these instruments from the “Songwriter Styles”
I typed in 3 chords, put it on a loop and thought wow! that
sounds like McCartney to me, so I’m thinking Pop song.
I heard a phrasing and melody line almost immediately and sang
Now you and me da da . A few more loops and I had the first line.
The critic in my head hears the 18th century-minded hyper-corrective
grammer police scolding, but I ignore it, this sounds better! Wanted
a very simple drum track, went into loops, auditioned the first one that
had Rock in the description, it was perfect. Then I had BIAB look for best
guitar solo and again the first one was great, sounded like Billy Joel’s
“This Is The Time”. Put in more chords, the Chorus puts these two characters
in a moment together. In a couple of hours I had this in my DAW, first take
vocals, used Nectar 2 for harmonies, I could have posted it on the same day.
I don’t write this to brag about myself, this never happens to me, I usually write,
re-write, re-do the arrangement a number of times. This is the rough demo,
I liked it so much that I didn’t redo anything, even the 16 bar guitar solo.
I hope you like it, thanks for listening.

Now you and me are one
Stand together in the brightest sun
Weather any storm
Together we can do no wrong

Dancing slowly under the starlight
Tonight my love
Don’t you know that it’s alright
Dancing slowly under the starlight
Starlight

And the world is spinning on
In this moment we can do no wrong

Dancing slowly under the starlight
Tonight my love
Don’t you know that it’s alright
Dancing slowly under the starlight

Awesome, Kenny!

Cool story about how this came about.

The acoustic works nicely. The drum loop is cool - sounds great!

One of your best vocals (always good) and the harmonies are super.

Love! the melody - especially the chorus. This is SO catchy!

Sounds to me like a cross between Glenn Frey and Sting - what a place to be!

(I did not think the guitar solo fit the mood of the song. Think I might try a sax...but that is a personal choice, of course.)

Truly dig it. Exceptional.

Great tune Kenny. The backstory of how the write came about is interesting too. Another good write, production and performance from you. Enjoyed this one a lot.

Indeed wow Kenny!
Beautiful, this really sounds like a crossover between Billy Joel and the Beatles.
Very professional use of the program!

Hi Kenny.

An inspired write and definitely the best thing I've heard you do.

For once I have to disagree with my old pal Floyd and say that I loved the solo!

Superb vocals and spot-on harmonies.

Altogether a brilliant production.

Kenny yea you are right ..so your thinking pop song...so was I when I listened to this...your story about the song is the way it should be. Out of the blue...no song writing course or book to buy...three chords...we just recently lost a member of a three chord spectacular band...rip Rick Parfitt..look were three chords got them..me personally ...that's were all the great songs come from ..sometimes songs can sound like a drone ...telling a story/poem. With music in the background. Listen to the.. acoustic guitar...that's a nice piano...liked the way you brought the sax in.. clever change on the style. When did you ever hear that with a true pop song we rocked we rolled sang along and loved them all ....each different from the next in big ways ...or small ways...that's a pop/commercial song...well done ...keep going the way your song writing/music is taking you ..and always use the kiss method...k..keep ..I it ...s...short...a...and...s...simple well done .

Take care

Kenny, a very "Paul" sounding tune. Melody line for the vocal works well guitar! Torrey

Kenny,
Very pretty and soothing- and your pared down production gives it a presence and warmth I really like.
Good back story to give us over thinkers pause!

You've created a sensational song, and perhaps given most of the credit to BiaB.

However, notwithstanding the genius of the PGM product, what you've delivered articulates excellent writing, beautiful vocals, and a masterful mix.

This is a really beautiful tune.

Congratulations are required, definitely.

Thanks Floyd for all the kind words.
I'll take Glen Frey/Sting any day, great compliment, love their work.
I love how you're always thinking about every detail and angle of a song
but I loved the guitar solo from the start, still I appreciate your input
and will file this away for future songs.

Thanks Rob,

I heard Beatles and Billy Joel in my head, but it usually doesn't
come out that way or do any justice to them. Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks ROG, so glad that you dropped by
Thought my last one was probably my best but it was more
Country.
Thanks for supporting the guitar solo!
and commenting on the production, I'm always learning
and trying to get better at it.

Agree with all that!! Beautiful!!! Sometimes songs are just born whole and there's nothing to mess with. This sounds like one of them to me. I agree the lead guitar clashes a bit at times. LOVE THIS Kenny!! Take care. Greg

Hello, Kenny

Nice Melody!
As Rob & Anne-Marie said, beautiful, this really sounds like a crossover between Billy Joel and the Beatles.
Very professional use of the program!
Love your vocals and chorus.
I felt a little bit jazz feeling on guitar solo.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best Regards.

I like the backstory, that's how good pop songs are born, almost like the song has written itself and you just write it down. Everything is so simple from the title to the arrangement, but still so catchy and enjoyable. Vocals and chords reminds me of Crowded House songs.

Awesome tune Kenny. Your vocal and harmonies were excellent. Loved the guitar. Super tone. Thanks for sharing the story on building the song. It is amazing how all these beautiful songs start from experimenting with a few chords, changing the styles around until a song grows a beautiful piece of work. I agree on your comments on the BIAB software. It has made playing music so much more enjoyable..

We never listened to Sting in any depth but the Eagles are at the top of our chart and, yeah, we also hear the Glen feel.

Man, your vocals are killer on this. The lead fits the lyric so well and the harmony is car horn tight.

The word "catchy" has been used and we agree. We were engaged from the first through the last note.

Cool backstory also.

Strong!!!!

Excellent one. Also I can feel some calls to the sound of P.Mc Cartney, but somewhere George Harrison too.

Very nice, great listening.
