HI Rob & Anne-Marie.

Very Depeche Mode and if you're going to have a signature sound this is a great choice.

An excellent backing track and you sound really comfortable singing this style.

The arrangement and mix are first class and the whole package with the video is professional through and through. Really glad you finally got around to posting this one!

Cheers, ROG.

Hi RnAM, This is fantastic! I really enjoyed the intro and the progression throughout the song. Nice work on the vocals! smile

Rob & Anne-Marie,

I enjoy the romance you put into synth-pop. This may be an early example but your production is at a high level and as ROG says you are very comfortable with this vocal style.
The sax break works very well.

Hello, Rob & Anne-Marie

Very catchy and pop!
The melody is so pleasant.
Vocals are superb as always.
The modulations from C# minor to F minor and then to the relative key of the original key surprise us.
And they are very smooth.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

RnAM, professional on every level! The chord changes starting the chorus are wonderful. The sax coming in was a great addition. Video was excellent!! Thanks, Torrey.

Depeche Mode ey,.... Well, I don't immediately see the resemblance.
Although I'm a big fan of their earlier (80s) work.
Thanks for the positive comment, yes, this was one that somehow got forgotten. The kind of song that you always want to post but then another new song comes up which you want to post first, ha ha.

Thanks again!

Rob and Anne-Marie, excellent song and we have to wonder why you kept this hidden from us for so long!

A really enjoyable listen, & fantastic vision to go along with it.

I always love what you do with your chord structures and key changes. Everything sounds great and the sax is lovely.

Wonderfully written, sung, and mixed!

Very cool!! Now, that is a stylish and wonderful signature! You guys always put together top shelf productions. Arrangements and vocals are done with great precision. Another great listen! Take care. Greg

OK, great song, yes, classic, RnAm, yes, extremely well mixed yes, of course BUT..

I have a much more important and urgent question to ask that I need a fairly immediately answer to Rob.

The awesome guitar effects you are using at the beginning sound very similar to Paul Simon's great intro on Father and Daughter. I have to know your effects chain dude. Whatcha doin' there man.

smile

Immediate response requested if that is not too much pressure.

Okay, we're gonna wrap this one up.
Thanks to everyone who commented so positively on our song!

David (sorry I didn't respond earlier), I used the following plug-ins on the guitar in the intro:
Classic compressor and Classic Delay (Short delay time) both from Kjaerhus Audio (free plug-ins). I also used a chorus ( don't remember quite which one, probably was the built in one from Cubase).
Finally we did a remaster on this one (the song is quite old) with Ozone 7.
Hope this helps?

Hi Rob and Anne-Marie

What a fabulous song! Took us back to about 1988, or thereabouts. Fabulous arrangement and your vocal shines! The sax was a real treat - fit perfectly. It's as though you personally hired a sax player to come in just for this song.

The percussions really add to the mix. This is our favorite from you guys so far. We totally loved it!

Wishing you both well.

Thanks guys for this very positive comment.
We were kind of lucky with the saxophone solo, which is actually a combination of two different solos merged together.
The program did a marvelous job here ;-)

Early production, late production and all between -- you do have a signature sound but never formulaic. Janice and I had watched the video last week and we both noted the relative rarity that you use still shots. They were very effective indeed and given your mastery with video clips it comes as no surprise.

The vocal, composition, mix and the sax are all excellent. It sounds tremendous on our monitors.

Old or new -- congrats on a great tune!

Hello Rob and Anne Marie,
I am totally surprised that I am not hearing your work every time I go into A movie theater. This is top of the line stuff. Vocals are awesome!
