It only took me 5 years to finish this song.
But who's counting
lyrics

Every now and then

5/10/12 - 5/8/17

© John Kenney 2012-2017

Every now and then, I get so cold inside

here I go again……..up against the tide

I wonder what to say since you’ve gone away

I’m half awake, now we’ve crossed the line

Remember way back when you were by my side

Want to call you back, but you seem to need some time

Now I wander on, not sure what I'll find

Every now and then, everything unwinds

(Lead)

Every now and then, you roll across my mind

I feel it all again, every now and then

I "sneaked a peek" at this one the other day.

So glad that you posted it here.

Great emotional write, love the chord changes and how

the vocal wraps around them

the background vocals with the "falls" in them when the harmonica

part plays is super

very nice, I enjoyed the listen

Great sounding song man! Love the instrumentation and mix. Very soothing.

Did Bob Dylan produce this?

And hey don't worry about the five year thing. I think Tears for Fears took five years to make one of their albums.

John,
Very nice laid back song- I like the way the swing style lightens the mood of the lyrics. The background vocals and harp are really well woven into the mix.
Everything done right to these ears.

Beautiful song John, great choice of instruments and the vocal is great. I really loved that harmonica coming in later in the song. It gave the tune an extra beautiful touch. Take care, Torrey.

"Every now and then, everything unwinds" There's a lot packed in that line.

There's a world of things to like about this production and, in our book, nothing to dislike. It has a feel of cohesiveness -- the lyric, chords, melody, vocal and RT choice all hang together like a good band. Very effective use of the harmonica...I'm yet to get a harp RT to sit in the mix right. Excellent.

Enjoyed the spins!
