My last post was titled "Apple Of God's Eye". This song is called "Apple Of My Eye'. It's an instrumental song I dedicate to my grand kids. This is a rework of the very first song I posted on this forum a couple of years ago. It's a Contemporary Jazz type sound. Hope you enjoy it! Thanks, Torrey

Hi Torrey,

I love this style of music and play it around the house all the time. Maybe I'll post a few of them.

This is great! Loved the melody and the tone on your guitar is fabulous! Nice sound all around. That was truly enjoyable listen! BTW ... loved that bridge around the 2:40 mark!

Best to you,

Alan

Torrey,

So I take it you played the solo guitar yourself?
Well, you sure know how to play it!
What a beautiful groove, and such a crystal-clear audio quality too.
This is a very cool instrumental!

Rob

Torrey - Kenny said just what I was thinking.

A great listen. Really enjoyed your guitar work (So that's a "processed" acoustic sound?)

fj
We're gonna steal Peter's word "sophisticated" and add ours "classy" to it.

And as floyd asked "processed acoustic?" Man, how did you do that?

It's all so fluid and melodic -- mesmerizing actually but in an energized and uplifting manner.

Great!!

Thanks Rob for taking time to listen and comment on my song! I appreciate it! T
Hello, Mr. Bliss...

In "Apple of My Eye" your guitar playing is so expressive that the notes you played sounded like lyrics being sung. You made it "talk" so clearly that I found myself mouthing words that weren't there, so, at some point I just decided to "scat" along with the notes:

"Dat, dah-dah-dah, dat, doo-doo-dah..."

I didn't notice a specific Real Style being indicated, so it looks like you took the time to search for the tracks that would combine in the most complimentary manner to flesh out your groove and the sound you heard in your head, and it's seamless.

I think the fact that you perform on other musical instruments gives me cause to say for the FIRST time to a "User's Forum" member that you actually made BIAB sound even better!

As other commenters pointed out, the production of "Apple of My Eye" is indistinguishable from what most of us would call "professional".

As the young(er) folks would say, "Man, that cut was tight!"

Sincerely,

LOREN

Yeah! Love that intro! Well crafted composition and great arrangement.

Hello, Torrey

Very nice melody!
Super playing! Your guitar is singing very well.
The melody is so natural that it may be sung with lyrics at any moment.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Torrey, Super guitar playing! Hard to believe that is an acoustic. Pro mix and just a great listen. Tom

Loved this track. Fabulous guitar sound and very tasteful playing. It reminds me a bit of Lee Ritenour or maybe Larry Carlton. The production is great.

Thanks Floyd! Yes, I ran my Taylor through some delay and compression. T
Wow - what a tune! I love the groove of this one, and the intro is incredible. It gets you engaged within 5 seconds. The composition sounds well crafted, and the arrangement is incredibly professional!

Thanks so much for sharing - you should be proud of this one smile
Torrey,
You had me from the first guitar lick. Everything oozes professionalism on this super smooth and uplifting track.
There are some nice dynamics and little rhythmic changes going on throughout.
I hope the dedication was well received!

Robert
Thanks J&B! As I replied to Floyd, I ran my Taylor 812ce acoustic through some compression and delay. The smaller body on the 812 produces a crisper, punchier sound which lends itself for lead work. It's not suitable for a lot of Jazz type music but it seems to work for my style. Thanks, T
So smoooooothe! Love the punchy guitar. Who knew a Taylor acoustic could sound like that. Nice production job all around. The fade is a refreshing alternative and perfect for this tune. Keep 'em coming.

Bob smile
bluage, thanks so much for all those kind words! I don't think I've ever had such encouraging sentiments on my music! Thanks, T
Lawrence, thanks so much for the kind words. I appreciate it. Thanks T
