Hi all. Tried to do a hybrid between Bill Haley and Eddy Cochran.
The chorus may sound a little modern.
Any way let me know if you think I succeeded.
All comments welcome Rob.

One two three bop

A one two three bop
A one two three roll
A one two three rock
A one two three stroll
Dance a till your feet hurt
Honey wanna dance with you

Bridge

Dancing to the rock'n roll
Listen to the bell toll.
Its going on a quarter to.
Oh baby I sure love you.
Yes one two three four
Honey gonna dance with you

Chorus

Im just trying catch you a watch you and catch flying feet.
Every move just brings me to my knees.
Every body seems stop and stare and watch you glide on bye.
Im so proud to be here as your guy

Bridge

A one two three bop
A one two three roll
A one two three rock
A one two three stroll
Dance a till your feet hurt
Honey wanna dance with you

Fade out

A one two three bop
A one two three roll
A one two three rock
A one two three stroll
Dance a till your feet hurt
Honey wanna dance with you

Hey Rob,

Took me back to about 1958 with one! Love this old rockabilly style. When I was in high school - early 1960s - this is what we listened and danced to. Thanks for some great memeories!!!

Nice mix and delivery. Enjoyed it!

Very cool tune. Love this style of music. I was pretty young when this style of music was hot but loved it when the Stray Cats brought it back into the main stream. Well done

Really Cool song. the vocals are a little loud overall & the 1st note in each verse comes in very harshly that could be automated down a little or even adjust your compressor.

"a hybrid between Bill Haley and Eddy Cochran"

You hit that mark. For the style, you could have more reverb on your vocals and the piano could be just a touch louder (to balance it against the guitar).

You do this style well.

Rob,
I missed out on this style in youth, but you got my feet tapping and your vocal has that confidence and bit of "attitude" that makes it authentic.
A good rocker!

Sounds very Elvis to us! But this is definitely one of your best ones so far. We were pleasantly surprised by the structure of the bridge, that was very functional in the song.

Good work!

Hi Sctott. Being born in 1960 makes me a little young for that era aswell.
Thanks for your support.

You nailed it Rob. Sounds like what I played on the jukebox and heard at "sock hops" during the late 50's.

If BiaB had RealVoices you would own this genre.

Well done!!

Great work here - it's got an infectious melody, and had my foot tapping within the first few measures. It's some great character behind it, and I can definitely hear the Bill Haley and Eddy Cochran influence here.

Thanks so much for sharing!

I think you were successful in your fusion! The image you selected for the track makes me want to go to the local dance hall! Also your lyrics totally capture that era's dance nightlife. Victoria has a pretty big "vintage" and "retro" community, so that sort of dancing style is still alive and well out here, and there's quite a community for it.

This has totally inspired me. Thanks for sharing, and great job on the hybrid! laugh

Damn! Where'd I put my leather jacket??? Oh, there it is. Roll up the cuffs a' my blue jeans...Nice! Now, lemme work a little dab a' that Byrlcreem into my pomp...Oh, you kid! Headed to the hop with my girl, Sally. Heard a guy named "Rob4580 and His Rollin' Rocks" is gonna wail on that rock and roll it out hot! Can't wait t' hear the latest, "One, Two, Three, Bop!" It's the wildest, daddy-o!

Nuff said? Solid, you sinners! Whaddya say we swing through that door an' hit the floor!

I was born in '54 so I remember the tail end of rockabilly. And then of course the Stray Cats brought it back many years later.
You have the style pretty much nailed I think! Good write and vocal.

Rob,

I really enjoyed listening to this. The style sits very comfortably with you. As I said on Soundcloud, this was very entertaining!

All the best,
Noel

Hi Dave. Appreciate those comments .Rob

Yes, Rob, my comment is that you did, indeed,
succeed in the recapture without falling to the
pitfalls common in the "cover," as it is called.
People today would jump right out on to the dance
floor and start in a'twistin'.

To me, the key was the use of the accoustic strum
to set the comping pace. That, as we recall, was the
60's folk innovation that marked the transistion from
be-bop to folk, later to folk rock.

The vocal and settings reminds of the dance hall,
even radio, sounds of an earlier generation, 30's and 40's.

These two elements bracket the foundation, the
1950's "Do-whop, Whoppa-diddywhoppa / Do-whop,
Whoppa-diddywhoppa-do-whop...(rpt.) Infectious.

Hope this analysis contributes to development
of the themes.

Hello, Rob

A very fun tune!
So straight.
This is exactly rockabilly.
Your vocal is just fitted to this type of songs.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.
