You picked a perfect tempo to demonstrate what you set out to achieve.

Nice clean guitar sound throughout, with good balance.

The WahWah fx was a little unexpected, but added to the 'melancholy' you set out to deliver.

Very enjoyable Scott.
Reminds me of Peter Greens Albatross (a favorite of mine) a little.
Can hear the melancholy.
Cheers.

The commentary paired with the song really does expression a very profound melancholy. I love how expressive music is, and this song is certainly no exception to that. I really, really enjoyed this one.

Thanks for sharing!

A very nice piece, Scott.

Well played and well mixed. That wah was cool...

The feeling of any tune is everything to me. This one said it all. So did your comment in your post. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground any more. Awesome tune! You should really submit some of your work for soundtracks. I've seen several movies lately that this tune would have been perfect for.

Nice melody Scott, and the Gretsch sounds sweet!
I started hearing some distortion after you kicked in the wha pedal, not sure if you are clipping at your end or if it is soundcloud?
But a good instrumental, enjoyed the listen!

Scott,

I love your guitar playing so much. I could listen all day long!

Gretsch sounds great!!

What a tune, Scott! I really loved the song - it sets a somber and somewhat beautiful atmosphere. The music is extremely expressive and emotional, and you can really feel it in your soul.

Thanks so much for sharing smile

Hi, Scott !:))

I agree with you, it is
easy nowadays to get lost
in the middle !!!!

Your tune reflects your
mood absolutely superbly
and if I´m not mistaken
this is one of your absolutely
best, if not even the best !!!

Wish I could play like you !

Cheers

love that guitar pic,

nice tone, great mix

very melodic, cool use of the wah wah to make a political statement (just kidding)

I think that you get better with each song,

if we're lucky we all do,

enjoyed,

Kenny

Well melancholy sums this work up well.
This would make a great western movies sound track.
This world is going down the tube fast, sadly.

Scott,

I really like the soundscape you`ve created- moody, with that edge the wah adds in the middle.
The Gretsch has a really nice tone, but its all in the feel you bring...which is unmistakably Scott.

Hi Scott,

"... just seems to very little common sense." Ain't that the truth??

Your song does an excellent job of portraying the mood you intended to provoke. Sweet sound and the Gretsch was a great choice for this one. They have a distinctive sound that can't be imitated by other brands.

Great playing and lots of "feel" in the delivery. A really great track! Best to you,

Alan

Hello, Scott

Very melancholic tune!
Your guitar tone is wrapped in elegant sorrow.
12/8 beat reminds me of "A house of the rising sun" a little bit.
As trevor said, I also thought the WahWah fx was a little unexpected, but added to the 'melancholy' you set out to deliver.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Thanks Gary I am so glad you liked it. I am a big fan of your music. Would love to have a song in a movie. Would be a bucket list thing. I have submitted a couple of song to Songtradr. Never know might get lucky one of these days

Thanks Dave for checking out the song. The Gretsch is weight relieved and my wah does this when the wah is about 3/4 of the way down. Did it with my ES339 as well. Not sure if the wah is failing or just something going on with the signal from the humbuckers.

this one is surely your best for me. A great guitar sound before and after with wah effect.
The melody is very nice, very well done.

Yep, the middle ground is getting very compressed. But for us good music like this, playing outdoors, family and friends can help ride out the storm.

Glad to hear you are on Songtradr -- I would think you could have success there given the quality and highly melodic playing of your instrumentals.

We enjoyed the tune -- the wah was special and the mix sounds super.

Good stuff. Nicely played and arranged. About time we dusted of both of our Gretsch's and did another duet.

Sweet, Sweet Tune!! Great playing-lots of emotion and great tone. Love the WAH! My best advice for the political stuff is avoid FB/Twitter. The news is bad enough. I try to find some kind of fascination with the current time and not let it drag me down emotionally but it is tough. Nice work here!! Take care. Greg

Scott,

You've really outshone yourself with this composition; and that is saying something because your work is always excellent!

I set the tune playing, closed my eyes and just let you carry me along on a river of audio imagery. I really enjoyed it. The mood your created made me feel reflective and peaceful. It's always really pleasant to hear songs in a mostly minor key. When you coupled that with a 12/8 feel, you had me in the palm of your hand!

Really enjoyed it!

All the best,
Noel

Thank you Shigeki for checking out the song. Yes I seem to gravitate towards the 12/8 time signature and minor chords. I really love the sound of the guitar playing through this chords.

This is really nice. One of my favorites of yours. The guitar sounds just perfect for this one. Great job, great feel, great tone, and the wah really adds a nice touch to it.
