You Called Me By Her Name Last Night (Featuring Janice Merritt) - 11/16/17 06:31 PM
You Called Me By Her Name Last Night
Here is a new blues collaboration with Janice.
We wrote this one again with Janice in mind who (no surprise here) sings sublimely (the outro is amazing).
Leon wrote the lyrics and I played the guitar solo bits.
Thanks to Bud for support, a lend of his ears, and recording Janice.

You called me by her name last night
Everything is clear now
I am awake
Thought I had a true love
But all of it was fake
Everything is crystal
So much I could say
Doesn’t seem to matter, though
Everything has changed
You called me by her name last night
No apology can put that right
I was only ever your back-up plan
Took so long but now I understand
Should’ve known that something wasn’t right
You called me by her name last night
It will disappear now
The future I thought fated
Everything is clear now
All the time that I have wasted
Everything is clear now
My viewpoint has been shifted
Whisper in your ear, my love
Should’ve known that you were twisted
You called me by her name last night
You cried a little and you held me tight
All I was to you was a back-up plan
Turns out you were just a hollow man
Should’ve known that something wasn’t right
You called me by her name last night
Ooooooooo
I trusted you
Oooooooooo
I trusted you
You called me by her name
Nothin’ ever gonna be the same
You called me by her name last night
You called me by her name last night
