Yes, another ukulele song.
I know, I know.
And the worst part is that I have more.
Sorry smile

Here it is:
[Link no longer valid]

Lots of BIAB tracks here. I played the uke and not much else actually. Here's the band:

RealDrums-Ethnic2Beat^3-Brushes,Sidestick
592 Bass, Acoustic Bluegrass Doc Ev 100
589 Banjo, Bluegrass Doc Ev 100 (Rhythm)
593 Fiddle, Rhythm Bluegrass Doc Ev 100
432 Mandolin, Rhythm Bluegrass Ev 130
1287 Accordion, Rhythm TexMex2Beat Ev 120
436 Mandolin, Soloist Bluegrass Ev 130
434 Fiddle, Soloist Bluegrass Ev 130
598 Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Bluegrass Doc

And here's the lyrics:

BE WHO YOU ARE

Say what you think, say what you think, say what you think
and take what you need, take what you need, take what you need

you know there's only one road to your future
you know there's nothing standing in your way
and I can really see your true colors
you're like a flower in space
floating and spreading beauty and grace
so, you say what you think, and take what you need

and go where you want, go where you want, go where you want
and try, try everything, try everything, try everything

you know you have a chance to be happy
I know there's nothing standing in your way
I know for sure this journey is never ending
you're like a cherry in may
small and sweet and ready to play
so, you say what you think, and take what you need
and go where you want, and try everything

And be who you are, be who you are, be who you are
and love, love everyone, love everyone, love everyone
cause I believe your story is worthwhile telling
I know there's nothing standing in your way
it's so much fun to imagine where you're heading
you're like a cloud in the sky
changing your shape before my eyes
so, you say what you think, and take what you need
and go where you want, and try everything
and be who you are, and love everyone
and go where you want, just go ..

You're like a flower in space
floating and spreading beauty and grace
so, you say what you think, and take what you need
and go where you want, and try everything
and be who you are, and love everyone
and imagine new things, and break all the rules
and believe in your dreams, and change everything,
and learn everything, and try everything
just go ...

You have a very distinct sound to your stuff, which I think is really great. I don't even have to look at your username or display picture to know that it's you! smile

Another great song, and great lyrics. Keep up the fantastic work. laugh

Hello Jon Thomas, Thanks for posting this! Excellent choices for this song and big fan of the Mandolin track. Really glues the elements together. Well done!

Man,

I really like this, especially when the whole band kicks in.

Your songs are always so fun!

This is great, Jon. Love the lyrics. Love the meaning as well.

Excellent, Jon!

Super arrangement, production and mix.

This needs to be on a children's TV show. A good one. Like Sesame Street. And repeated many, many times. To become a classic.

WOW-worthy.

Thank you guys.
I always appreciate any feedback, critique, suggestion.

Speaking of the arrangement, I thought that this song was a good way to showcase BIAB and its power. It's really a song 95% based on BIAB, and I think BIAB works, once again, beautifully - regardless of the quality of the song itself, which you may or may not like of course, I'm just talking about BIAB and its incredible features.

Great work here! I love how catchy, and how happy it sounds. I'm always a sucker for the ukelele smile There's some awesome progressions here too, and it's got a great groove too.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Jon, I am here to say that you make great music!! I can listen to those uke songs all day! Your vocals are excellent along with the way you craft your songs. This is such an enjoyable tune that really starts coming together at about the 2:00 mark and fully erupts at about 2:45. Top level stuff as far as I'm concerned! Take care, Torrey

Everything about your song is great - and it sounds awesome through my tinny Chromebook speakers, which is no mean mixing feat in itself.

Very good vocals

Nice folk song, I like your ukulele, BIAB doesn't seem to have Ev ukulele RTs. It and mandolins fit this ultimate positive song that really brings smile on my face smile
