Hi Everyone. I'm loading an instrumental I did a little while back.

Di's health has taken a sudden very serious downward turn - almost lost her night before last. Her heart rate got over 150 bpm and they couldn't bring it down for quite some time. They finally did and she's home from the hospital and resting fairly good.

I'm working on a couple of new songs but putting them on the back burner until Di's health improves.

This is a George Benson style Smooth Jazz song I created all on BIAB. Hope you like it a bit. Will post the tracks, ect., when I get a chance.

Mty comments on your wonderful music will be rather brief for a little while, but I'll get to them all in time.

Thanks in advance. Best to everyone.

Alan

Dear Mr. Al-David...

Well, now, you know Chicago is my (much-missed) hometown, and my memories of its nightlife are as vivid as the day after! laugh

So, please allow me to affirm the sleek swing and the cool after-hours sheen on the finish of your instrumental composition, "One Night In Chi-Town". It has that hip & mellow kind of jazzy swagger that conjures up A.M. cruises along Lake Shore Drive and after-party walks down Michigan Avenue.

I'd say it's the perfect underscore for seekers of nocturnal excitement who's taste in music always leads to jazz clubs, and who's answer to the question, "Where to, next?" could only be, "Well, all I know is, it's too early to go home!"

And, as usual, your chord progressions are as sublime and musically sensual as ever cool.

LOREN

P.S. Ms. Diane, obviously your love of life is stronger than what's ailing you, so, hold on tight and don't give up the fight!!! smile smile smile

Hi Loren!

Thank you so much for all of that! I do not simply brush over your remarks and give them a shrug. Your replies and comments are always insightful and inspiring. It's the inspiration of your remarks that matter most to me, although I do, indeed, appreciate the accolades.

I write this with a friend of mine in mind, also named Al, who is a Jazz Sax player from Chicago. It's his hometown, as well. Chicago has a great live music scene, better than many other large cities. I used to drive up there from my hometown of St. Louis a couple times each year to catch some of the great sounds coming from the bars and lounges.

Thank you for thinking of Di. Her health is very tenuous. It seems we spend more time in Drs' offices and hospitals than we do at home. Much affection and warm feelings from us to you.

Merry Christmas!

Alan & Di

Hi David.

Glad you liked it! It's one of my favorite Jazz tunes to be created with BIAB tracks. Wishing you well, my friend! Also, many thanks for your kind wishes for Di ... truly appreciated.

Wonderful job here Alan smile It's a wonderful little jazz tune, definitely! It's a real finger-snapper. The choice of RealTracks here couldn't be better - everything just melds and flows together so nicely. It's the kind of music I imagine a band playing in a nice lounge in the 70's.

Great work, and as always - thanks for sharing!

Hi Robert.

Many thanks for all that! Glad the song works for you.

Di's days as a singer are drawing to a close ... she simply doesn't have the strength to sing anymore. She tried one last week and it wore her completely out.

But I'll continue to make music as long as i can ... or until someone tells me it's not worth listening to anymore!

Wishing you the very best,

Alan

Hello, Alan

Yes, this is George Benson!
It is not the fusion or vocal sound that he recorded with Warner Bros, but this is his original jazz sound.
Very cool and pleasant!
I love this very much.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best wishes for Di's recovery.

Best regards.

Hi Al.
I’ve been so wrapped up with my stuff that I haven’t had chance to hear many other members tracks recently,so I thought I’d have a listen, especially as you’ve been so enthusiastic about my work.
Well this is a cool groovy song, love the solo work and the nice easy rhythm,I shall explore the jazz tracks a bit more myself I think.
Sorry to hear about Di,hope she’s on the mend.

Thanks again for your support mate.

Hui Deryk,

Always a pleasure when you drop in with your kind words. And yes, it's written with the "lounge lizards" in mind! Glad you liked it ... thanks!

Hi Shigeki,

Thank you very much for taking some time to listen. I'm delighted you liked it! And yes, this is original george Benson style - when he still had a lot of Wes Montgomery influence in his writing and playing. Again, thank you so much! Wishing you the very best.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for those very nice comments! Thank you for your kind thoughts about Di - she is doing better.

As far as your music - I enjoy the diversity and original sounds in your music. I like how you mix various genres and use unanticipated tracks.
