Excellent collaboration. Lovely vocal. Excellent backtrack. Love these old tunes.
Graham,
You can`t beat a Scottish ballad for a lovely melody tinged with sadness.
I`m not familiar with this one ( please post the lyrics), but think you must have stayed close to tradition with your simple arrangement.Joanne`s vocals are as pure as ever.
Nice moment when your accordion solo comes in with a slightly "dark" tone!
Most enjoyable.

Robert
I love old Scottish folk songs, my dad used to play music like this all the time.

Joanne's voice is absolutely perfect for this!

Good job on the track and the accordion.

Nice collaboration, enjoyed the listen!
Thanks for this one.
Can imagine hearing my Scottish grandmother singing this.

Great job Joanne.
You do a great job of all the many projects you tackle.
Your voice is beautiful in this style.
The backing and accordion sounds spot on.
Good one Furry.
Cheers.
Beautifully done!! Nice track and accordion, and Joanne blows it away-this is the type of song where she really shines!! Great work guys! Take care. Greg

Thanks Robert, if you have a look on you tube, there's hundreds on versions, including one with different lyrics written by a great friend of mine. Some are good, some are vomit inucing, some are great

Collabs are good.

New and creative interpretations of traditional songs are good.

Y’all are good.

All is good and we enjoyed it. smile

Yes yes yes! I loved this smile Joanne's vocals absolutely took this to the next level. You outdid yourself here. This is just a beautiful and heartwarming song. Not a thing I'd change.

Thanks Derek, yeah Joanne has a voice that's simply perfect for this song
Hello, Graham

Very beautiful song!
Joanne's vocal is perfect for this one.
Wonderful collaboration!
Your accordion is very nice as usual.
I love old Scottish folk songs, but I'm not familiar with this one.
Very good song!
I feel it is surely one of the origin of modern folk.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Hi Furry and Joanne,

I am scottish and really really enjoyed this song.

Kudo's to yourselves smile

George
Hi Graham and Joanne
I've only ever know this as an Instrumental and to hear it as a vocal is wonderful. The accordion background to Joanne's singing and harmony really makes this super special.
Superb effort by you and Joanne and the BIAB backing is First Class.
Thanks for Posting.
Happy Christmas

Shigeki, thanks for the kind comments.
As far as I'm aware the melody is an old Scottish pipe tune. The lyrics are a bit new however

Hi Ian, many thanks for your comments. I'm sure Joanne's dead chuffed with all the praise
That was beautifully made sir.
I myself am from the Highlands of Scotland and my mother used to sing this song
My sister and I both played in Hector McCrae's Scottish Dance Band (My sister Played Piano and I played Bass) But that was over 40 years ago!!!! lol
I was wondering if you could send me some of your arrangements of traditional Scottish folk/Country songs in sgu files so that I could play along with them on bass for something to do in my retirement
Many thanks and I love your feel for the squeezebox
