Not sure if this is really a parody of a specific song, more of a spoof of the 6m 4 1 5 genre in various orders.
And of course my hatred of Corn Syrup based pancake syrup! Real Maple Syrup Only!

I like the sound structure of this song.
My first thought is this a Jingle for syrup?
The production is good. The compression works well even on my crappy mobile tablet phone. Something I have yet not accomplished. Lyrics are good, vocals are clear. Honest and simple. I like it!

I love it when a song here takes me by surprise! I had no idea what Karo Syrup was, so I Googled it and found it's corn syrup. Is it a cheaper/less palatable syrup than maple, hence the heartfelt lyric? I followed them on Soundcloud and smiled all the way! Such anguish set against a very groovy chord sequence! Great stuff.

On my headphones the excellent gritty vocal was panned a lot to the left which I did find a wee bit distracting. Or was that part of the shtick? Anyway, a great listen!

Well, I agree with your choice of real maple syrup over Karo, but I think that this is a really cool song idea and you ought to consider trying to come up with some more serious lyrics... I think, that if you do that, you will have a really cool song because the melody and Arrangement are really very nice... That being said, I would never choose Karo over maple syrup!!
