Knowing that he might have to be away from the Band in a Box Forum for almost a week because of the indignity of having to work for a living, David Snyder played one last pre-final, almost final, prelude to a series of almost final concerts by playing to 100,000 fans in a surprise appearance somewhere on the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee.

https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs2/nashville-rain

For the encore, he played Nashville Rain, surrounded by a chorus of angels, in honor of his Band in a Box peeps and many fainting, beautiful women.

This is what has been called by many the greatest, and perhaps the most awesome and most epic song ever written in the history of mankind:

Nashville Rain

By David Snyder

V1

Well I never wanted to see you
Waitin’ tables at the Bluebird, girl
Never wanted to see you go through that much pain
I only wanted you to come to my place
Take a bubble bath with some purple soap girl
Never wanted to see you working for spare change
No I never wanted to see you having to bend over
In those tight cut off jeans
just working for spare change

CH

In the Nashville Rain, Nashville Rain
in the Nashville Rain
I just never wanted to see you have to play the game
In that Nashville Rain

V2

You know I never wanted to see you living in a doublewide
Outside of Franklin
Spending all your money just to cut a song
You know the devil wants to rob you blind, but you’re mine girl
So I need to you to open up your mind
Then close your mind
And say I’m just not going to play along
If all we have is some sexy music and a bubble bath girl
You know that ain’t no shame, you know that ain’t no shame

CH

In the Nashville Rain, Nashville Rain
in the Nashville Rain
I just never wanted to see you play the game
In that Nashville Rain

Bridge:

If anybody knows what I’m talking about I just want you to
put your hands together
because I’m about to play you the guitar girl
just like I make love to you
going to take you to heaven
on a purple cloud
and it goes a little something like this

Inst.

Great work on this Dave! I really enjoyed the overall progression. The Organs are an excellent touch, they really help glue the different sections together. Very engaging lyrics too, well done!

David,

LOL! This is classic and AWESOME! Great instrumentation and mix as well.

The Purple One would approve... smile

Pure genius!

It does sounds vaguely familiar, but heck... what country song doesn't have a girl bend over in tight cut off jeans? grin

When you got to the chorus, I'd have pulled my lighter from my pocket and started waving it... If I had one.

But seriously, a very enjoyable listen. Great write, sung with conviction, well arranged and mixed.

I don't know if the Purple One would approve (we're talking about Darkwing Duck, right?), but I certainly do. laugh

"This is what has been called by many the greatest, and perhaps the most awesome and most epic song ever written in the history of mankind"

Yeah, pretty much! smile

So many little things coming together to make this great. The hold in the chorus just before the last "In that Nashville Rain" for example. And too many others to mention! Let me just say that I'm with David, this is pure genius.

Nice guitar work too, you should play more! Love the ending!

Hey David,

If you remember, last week I told you I thought you were one of the most creative people ever to grace these forums. Well, thanks for verifying that for me.

Well composed and arranged. There are so many elements to this that work so well together. Inspired vocal and the lead guitar riff was, as our British friends would say - pants!

Tip of the sombrero, my friend. till smiling!

˦,

As you notice above...I have given you a new name. Don't try to pronounce it...you'll hurt yourself... It had to be done.

Best "big sound" you've done (so far). Cohesive. Everything works. Nice guitar...

Could not help but wave my arms in the air through the 2nd half.

And the crowd swaying and flashing their cellphone lights screamed for more as Snyder was helped off stage...he could hear their voices and the thundering applause echoing like it was literally seeping through the concrete walls in the underground parking tunnel. As he fell exhausted into his limo and was wisked away, a voice boomed over the crowd..."Ladies and Gentleman, the artist formerly known as
Snyder has left the building." grin

Mr. Snyder, this is so amazing! I can't wait for the day that some young genius will have the inspiration to do a parody of this great song of yours! I only wish I had been in the throng of 100,000 fans that were graced with this performance.

Unfortunately I, too have been experiencing the indignity of having to work for a living, and was unable to lend my support, somewhere on the outskirts of Nashville.

(Good job!)

What a tune! I love your vocal delivery here. It is at a really unique pace, and really helps it stand out. That aside, I love how huge and lush the production is. It has a lot of power to it, and I can imagine this sounding unreal performed live.

Great work here - thanks for sharing smile

I was just amazingly touched and touched amazingly and touched and amazed at the amazing star power over the entire crowd , i could amazingly see them lift their hands high and beg the singing David to swoop off stage and..... Great song David, love it as always!!!

Dear Punk Floyd,

Thank you for recognizing my new name. Because now I live in the Great Purple Palace of My Own Magnificence, I can see you out there in the crowds waving, but I will never forget the man who taught me to mix my first country song.

Nailed!

Epic!

Ultimately a sad story told within a fine production.

Thanks Steve!

I don't know what to say about the parody.

Having never, ever done a parody myself, I don't know how I would react, but come to think of it, I think I look forward to that!!!

Clifton,

Those were some amazing words man, but as I stand in front of the full length mirror fresh out of my bubble bath and see how amazing I am, I can see how you would say that, now that I think more about it.

Thanks man!!

David, you have the most creative mind of anyone that I know! This is just plain fantastic. The vocal and backing tracks were perfect but your lyrics took it over the top for me. Great job on that.

As a bonus your guitar leads were super!
