A Pair Of Peaches

Just a simple little cocktail piano piece I threw together some time ago. A trio: piano, drums and acoustic bass. Nothing real special. I wrote it for a submission opportunity for a scene with some cocktail piano music to play in the background at an upscale restaurant. I saw the opportunity about 45 minutes before it was set to expire. I was twenty minutes late getting this finished, so it never got considered. It's a quick throw-together - about and hour and a half from start to finish. Hope you enjoy your listen.

The title came from an advertisement I saw in the local paper as I was putting this together - they were advertising fresh peaches for sale and showed a couple of pics of peaches (not this pic). Sounded as good as anything!

Hi Alan,

Well this one certainly sets the tone! I always love a Jazz Piano Trio and you've done everything right to keep my enthusiasm for such ensembles intact! It's a really pleasant and happy journey in music that you've composed here. I was with you all the way.

I can't believe that you did this in such a small time frame. As I've said a number of times, I'm amazed at how productive you are, at how little time you often use to complete a work, and at how very good your compositions sound. It's true... I'm envious smile

Thank you for sharing!

Best wishes to you and Di,
Noel

It’s a shame this was 20 minutes late. It sounds like a winner to me. Masterfully done. Great work.

Yes. Was a perfect piece for that scene...
Very nice.

Sounds good to me, Alan, great groove and changes.

Too bad you missed the deadline, but you never know, a similar opportunity could present itself in the future.

What a gorgeous and pleasant little tune smile Really smooth sounding, and this would sound perfect in a lounge setting. I'd definitely keep this one tucked away in case the opportunity arises again.

Nice work and thanks for sharing!

Nicely done, Alan.

I would think there would be opportunities to use it for another pitch sometime...

Hi Noel.

Thank you very much! Glad it works for you. As far as the time frame, I guess I don't go through all the steps many of the other contributors here do. The chord progressions come to m e pretty quickly. As long as it keeps working, I guess I'll keep doing it that way! Wishing you the very best.

This one really brings a restaurant alive, I can almost hear gabbling and see some peaches on the table smile Very authentic melody and chording, excellent work in such a short time!

Really nice cocktail music!

Oh yea I completely agree. The only thing missing is the clicking of glass and some background voice conversations!

This is as good as any lounge trio that I have heard!
