Homage to Jean Vanier, founder of L'Arche, who founded L'Arche--group homes for developmentally disabled adults who previously were kept at home "in the dark".

-------------------
No matter how young or old,
This world can be cruel and cold;
Though you're not the same, your heart's alive;
Alive with a dream of a home
Where you're not alone;
Well, that ship of hope will soon arrive.

This vessel survives the night,
A refuge of faith and light;
We might not see things the world's way;
So if you've been kept in the dark,
Come on and embark!
This ark was built by Jean Vanier.

Chorus:
We're happy to give with one heart, together in life.
Happy to live ...so alive!

So if you've been kept in the dark--
Come out and embark !
This ark was built in love;
This ark is from above;
This ark was built by Jean Vanier.

I enjoyed listening - interesting chord changes, and your songs have got a unique sound.

Plus, it's not often we get an extended bass solo! smile

Nice work on this Tano smile I loved the peaceful, swaying groove here - and like all your tunes, it really has a unique sound to it. Really smooth and easy on the ears. Plus, it's a gorgeous tribute to a good cause.

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing!

The two of us spent virtually our entire careers working with the developmentally disabled.

That makes this great composition even more meaningful.

Well done in all aspects!

Hello, Tom

Very good song with a lot of French Chanson feel.
At the same time it has also Tom Jobim's feel as usual.
Really nice Bass solo!
And Accordion gives an especially nice taste to this song.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

I was immediately impressed with the phrasing.

The musical balance is ideal, and the overdubbing of voicing is perfect, and gives stereo depth to the delivery.

The style reminds me of songs such as Tiger In The Rain.

Quality throughout.

Shigeki and VideoTrack, thanks for the nice comments. I'm not familiar with Tiger in the Rain, I'll have to check it out!

VideoTrack..I see that you are referencing Michael Franks...I see lots of similar influences in my efforts and his!

Hi Tom,
Your bossa is very well build.
Lyrics don't leave indifferent.
The melody is clear and limpid carried by your voice.
And this accordion in a bossa is very creative. Congratulations.
