Fractal Animation Video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8bPw-OU3hI

For full emersion I recommend watching a Fractal Animation while listening.
(Mute the soundtrack on the video.)

I had three goals in mind when I sat down to compose something.

1 compose an instrumental on the keyboard:

All the sections of the song, except the piano section, were written around the bass lines that I wrote on my Korg.

2 incorporate BIAB where possible:

I was able to not only use BIAB to assist me with the Key and Chord arrangements but to my delight I stumbled upon that wonderful New Age piano part.

3 play some guitar in the composition myself:

As much as I wanted to play, once I mixed in Brent Mason’s Pop Promise electric guitar there was no looking back.

The title came from my discovery of Fractal Animation on YouTube in the middle of writing this music. If you listen to the song and watch almost any of the Fractal animations that you can find on YouTube, you would think I wrote the music for the animation. There will be moments when the two sync up almost magically.

Realtracks: 1604 fiddle, 2158 Elc Rhythm Gtr, 2203 Elc Soloist PopPromise Brent
Midi supertrack: 2063 Piano NewAge

I liked it! You should make a video with those fractals synced to your music.

A terrific musical piece, Lawrence.

Ear candy. Nice textures. Good pace. Excellent mix. A great listen.

Wow - I really liked this! I'm getting some major video game soundtrack vibes on this. The groove is fantastic, and I love how all the instruments meld together. It has an almost "electric" energy to it, if you will.

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing smile

Love it! At about 0:15 to 0:25 reminded me of Gary Numan. Nicely arranged.

Fantastic work gruverider! Very psychedelic vibe to this and immersive with the visuals. Love the intro, and the transitions between sections are smooth as silk. Great work!

This was a really cool and unique sound to hear! I really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing.

Woah!! Totally Awesome!!

Love the heavy metal/rock stuff at the end and the way you build up to it.

This is a work of art dude!!!

Love it!

Very psychedelic trip, lots of things happening on the way to the synaptic bliss. I like especially the funky parts and the synth landscape break. And the solo guitar is excellent addition.

Lawrence,

So many layers to this one!

I could listen to a whole album of this - extremely cool feel and vibe.

Hello, Lawrence

A terrific musical piece, as floyd said.
The melody played with overdriven guitar and the chord progression are splendid.
And the really nice use of Midi supertrack: 2063 Piano NewAge.
Super sound, over all!
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Wonderful musical experiment/experience! What a unique way to use BIAB! You're right, your composition fits perfectly with the fractal video..both have almost no repeats, lots of changes in mood, texture, layers, etc. I'm amazed that you can get this kind of sound/contribution out of BIAB!

Wow, cool!
We followed your advice and played your track as an accompaniment to the fractal video and it just fitted right in. This is a very professional music production BTW, very different from your other songs.
Great video too!

PHAT Korg bass.
I didn't watch the vid - I'm too easily sucked into the void.
Definitely a trip.

Thank you Josef. I looked into how to make a fractal animation and all I can say is it is extremely difficult. It is math and art at a level I don't think I could do.

At first we were concerned about syncing the beginning of the vid and the audio but quickly realized that it doesn't matter. And that makes it even more fascinating.

This is so dramatically different from your years of posts that it's hard to review w/o the gruverider reference smile

The composition and production is waaaay above our musical and production pay grades but we found it fun to watch and listen to.

Rich textured productions have always had my admiration but I couldn't imagine trying to mix that. It sounds amazing on the monitors. Bass sounds super.

So...where do you go from here? smile

Yes, terrific, but the visual detracts from it. the music is fractal on it's own.

Lawrence,

Top shelf professional is the first thing that popped into my mind as I listened. So much going yet put together so cohesively. Perfect transitions from part to part. This must have taken a lot of time and effort. I can see this as the b/g track for a science documentary of some sort.

Simply wonderful throughout! And I did listen from beginning to end. Congrats on a superb project.

Thank you J&B. The way it sync's with the video is uncanny isn't it. I really enjoyed putting this together.

Where do I go from here? Stay tuned, I've got another one on the burner wink

You had me at hello, i.e. when I read the title!! Really great piece of music you've constructed here. Reminds me of Yes or some similar band. I can see why you left Brent on.....he's pretty darn hard to beat! Lots of synaptic bliss here!! Take care. Greg

Greg, thank you. You're right I'm a big fan of Yes. Mix in some Meters and I think we got it.
