BB On The Rocks

Haven't posted anything in a couple of weeks. This one I put together a couple of months ago. A contemporary Guitar Blues put together with thoughts of the many treasure BB King gave us over the years. A sip of good bourbon and a BB King song was always a real treat.

Well done Al-David! I admired the overall vibe on this. I also found this very easy to listen and the mix sounds well polished too. The Guitar noodling and effects sound epic! Really dig the reverb too. Thanks for sharing!

Blues at its best. Great job on the RTs and mix.

B&B, Beer and Blues go together like love and marriage.

I could listen to a album like this for hours.

Great job on this Alan! You really captured the true BB vibe on this! That walking bass really pulls this thing together! Thanks, Torrey

Many thanks, mario. There isn't much that doesn't go well with the blues. Maybe too much happy? Glad you liked it! Best to you.

Hi Torrey,

Thank you so much! I've always like the walking bass line on shuffle blues, and the slower one like this. Glad you liked it. Appreciate you letting me know. best to youy.

Smooth blues.

But in my case, with some Diet A&W Rootbeer. wink

Alan,

This is nice! Great to see someone use the acoustic blues RT. Everything about this is "in the right place". You do a good job of finding the gems in BIAB...

Excellent mix (as always). You make good music.

Is 570:Guitar, Slide, Soloist Blues Monday Sw 060 the only soloist used? (the leads don't sound like a slide RT)

Moved me. Sounds sweet at both mid and high volume. Much enjoyed.

Really nice work Alan! Love the bluesy vibes here, and the mix is superb. It sounds really crisp, and really professional. Wouldn't bat an eyelash hearing this on the radio. The groove is perfect too - I love how you incorporated that walking bass.

Thanks for sharing smile

We like small batch bourbon. BB's "Live At The Regal" is one of our fav albums. We like your productions.

All meaning.....WE LOVE THIS!

Hi Floyd.

Thank you so very much. I really enjoy any shuffle blues and these slower ones always seem to pull a little harder on the emotions, in my opinion. You'd probably be surprised how much time I spend looking for various tracks.

My bad on the track listing. I dropped the slide and used a brent mason track instead. I'll go back and find which one it was and post it for you. After I swapped the guitars, I forgot to copy the changed song memo. Thank you again for your encouragement. Best to you & yours.

Hi Deryk,

Always appreciate when you, and the other PG Music folks, stop in for a listen. I wouldn't mind hearing it on the radio myself! It's hard to beat a good walking bass on a lot of songs. Glad it works for you here. Best to you.

Floyd,

I've updated the RT for the lead guitar, in the song intro message.

It's: RealTracks in song: 2686:Guitar, Electric, Soloist BluesSlow12-8BrentSimple Sw 065

Alan..I really liked how you kicked this track off, with that couple of bars of acoustic(?), before launching into the band; immediately hooked me with that! And throughout, a thoughtful selection of parts, etc.--added lots of interesting colorations and bits, caused me to listen very carefully. Blues patterns are so familiar, you can wind up just sitting back, letting it soak in (while you sip your bev)--nothing wrong with that, but taking the extra effort to choose parts, add items like the walking bass, etc. turn the track into more than just 'background blues' and into something that you want to listen closely to.
Great work!

Hi!,

A little behind on listening and replying due to wife's health issues.

I, too, liked the acoustic lead in. No good explanation - just sounded good, so I did it. I sincerely appreciate your comments about adding some of the little things. I do what i can to make 'em sound good! I was a lead guitar player in a band for over 50 years - I guess I picked up a few worthwhile things along the way. Delighted to hear you enjoyed it - many thanks!

That is nice.
The only thing that struck me as odd was the metal style clicky tin foil kick drum sound - it's almost the same as the snare.

Hello, Alan

Great contemporary blues!
I agree with Torrey.
You really captured the true BB vibe on this! That walking bass really pulls this thing together!
As Mario says, B&B, Beer and Blues go together like love and marriage.
Or, Bourbon and Blues on the rocks. I thought that Bourbon would fit this song.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.
