Sometime back i posted a song, cant remember what one.
But someone made a comment regarding it being in the style of JD Souther, or sounding like.
I had to google this guy, because i thought.. ive never heard of him.
Turned out though i had. because he had a long relationship with one of my hero bands The Eagles. i was surprised to see the link as in he wrote the track, How long and recorded it on one of his albums.
Of course the Eagles done How long as well.
The other thing i found was he wrote a song called You're Only Lonely, I read in an article how he based/ styled or was influenced by Roy Orbison Only the lonely.
I love this guys stuff, i bought all albums that i could get.
Now here is my wee song based on being influenced by both of these songs.
I get lonely.

Great job with the vocals and doubling. Really nice groove and structure. Big nod to the ending chord.
It probably wasn't me but JD is one of my all time favorites.
Some of those songs that Linda Ronstadt recorded are still at the top my list
for great songs.
Loved your idea and inspiration for the title,
this was a very catchy bouncy song that flows along nicely
enjoyed the listen,
Kenny
Hello beatmaster, wowzers! Excellent mixdown on all of this and rhythm is easy to follow. Great tone with the guitar too. Really enjoyed the movement of the strings with the rest of the instruments. Fantastic work on the vocals. Looking forward to hear more!
Cool vibe! You captured the vibe so well!
much enjoyed!
Cool song. But, why does BandCamp have to have a political opinion and adjenda?
Beatmaster,
This is a really enjoyable listen. I love the vibe. Everything sits really well in the mix and frames your singing competence admirably.
Kudos for using all those MIDI tracks. In case it means anything, I'm impressed!
All the best,
Noel
This works on all levels - warm vocals (with no need for fancy effects) and a catchy melody.Your research paid off `cos you`ve captured the country pop feel.
Not having much clue about MIDI, I`m curious why you went that route rather than RT`s?
Robert
I get a 50s vibe or early 60s pre-Beatles with your song. Very upbeat music with less than upbeat lyrical content, similar to that era. Nice work!
beatmaster,
A very catchy tune. THe piano/drum combo keep it moving throughout.
Nice vocal, well sung and a nice warmth.
(J.D.'s "Faithless Love" has always been a favorite - especially Linda Ronstadt's version with J.D. singing harmony).

Excellent song! Really enjoyed what you did with this song. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent song. super vocal and lyric. Well done..
Hi beatmaster,
very nice song with a great 50s vibe. Cool.
Cool song... I just finished watching The History of the Eagles on Netflix again.... JD is a big influence and collaborator in their songs. They all lived together in the early days.... Jackson Brown was in that mix too.
Your song is good. I liked it. Playful and light feeling.
Nits: I couldn't really hear the bass all that well.... I actually had to look at the OP to see if there was a bass track.... and yep.. there was. Also, not a fan of the non-tonic chord ending. It felt unfinished.
Thanks Guitarhacker for pointing the low bass out fixed now.
Nice tune!! Like the retro feel of your stuff, and always impressed by the vocals! Very much enjoyed this!! Take care. Greg
Nice sound and melody that goes very well with realtracks you used.
Sergio
What a tune! It's a gorgeous throwback - sounds like it's right out of the late 60's/70's. You nailed the harmonies, and that groove carries everything along perfectly. Really catchy as well, and your vocals are spot on.
Great work - thanks for sharing
Really, really catchy song Beat.
You sure do know how to write a hook and mix a song!
Great job with this. Wonderful retro feel.
Tangmo Big nod to the ending chord.
Thanks for your comment, lazy man when it comes to endings.
Well done beatmaster, wowzers! Excellent mixdown on all of this and the chord progression is very nice. Quite enjoyed those guitar licks too. Nice work!
Kenny Some of those songs that Linda Ronstadt recorded are still at the top my list
Thanks Kenny I don't know who it was that mentioned JD Souther but I'm Glad they did.
Again thanks
joe pg music many thanks for your comments and time.
Gruverider Glad you enjoyed thanks for your listen and time.
We are long time JD fans...both his solo efforts and collaborations.
You did an outstanding job of capturing the entire vibe of that period...I say period but we think it's timeless.
Fine write and performances and production. Just good all the way around!
J&B
A really nice melody and catchy infectious beat.
Good vocal performance and nice work all round.
Peter
Really good job on the mix. It sounds so silky smooth on my little tablet headphones and they are merciless. Cool foot tapping retro feel arrangement too.
tobias ...Cool song. But, why does BandCamp have to have a political opinion and adjenda?
ehhh ?? WHAT YOU ON ABOUT ??.
Thanks
Hi, Beatmaster !!!!:))
Great, just great music
and your vocal is so good !
Love the tune, your singing
and that intoxicating beat
that puts everyone in motion !
Cheers
Dani
beatmaster, I definitely hear a JD Souther/Almond Brothers kind of thing happening here! It’s excellent man!! Good work! Thanks, Torrey
Noel thank you for your comments and your inspirational post.
Hello, beatmaster
It is a nice song made with the golden chord progression I - VIm - IV - V7.
I agree with Ezekiel's Storm.
I also get a 50s vibe or early 60s pre-Beatles with your song.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Thanks for your comments.
Midi is more versatile and I get to pick my own sound from various sources, I also feel midi has more of a presence, Real tracks sound a bit distant and weaker sound, midi feels stronger and nearer more like a piano player would sound if he was playing the piano next to you and you where singing and playing guitar in the same room.
hope that makes sense.
Again thank you
Eziekels thank you for your nice comments appreciate it.
Floyd thanks for you time and comments and yes Faithless Love a great tune.
Ember thank you
Scott appreciate thanks.
Crossroads 50s works for me thanks .

Herb I think I have said this before anyway...at the risk of repeating myself Your Music Was What Made Me Buy/commit to biab And now I thank you.
Yeah, I love this! Great writing and vocals. Old school, but that’s a good school in my book
Nice arrangement too, the little spoken word bit after the solo was very effective.
Well done, enjoyed the listen.
Scott and crossroads Thanks guys for your reviews Take care.
Herb thank you for your comments/guidance, I know I am lazy with the endings, however noted that will change.
Hi!
I really liked this! Bouncy, perky and all those other words imply all that. Your vocal is really, really spot on - very nice job! Thanks for a really cool listen! BTW, I'm a fan of occasionally ending a song on an "off' chord. I tend to use the 6 minor a lot, sometimes the 4maj7. Best to you.
Alan
