Hi All,
Here's something new - simple and lowfi...
This is called
Baby Get Gone.
Can’t get along
With my dreams
I lose my footing
Fall off the beam
I’m lost in the city
On some avenue
Without a name
Without a clue
So get gone baby
Get gone baby
Baby get gone
Don’t want angels
In my view
I can see the lights
They are tinted blue
I’m looking for heartbreak
To hold the line
Buy some options
Buy some time
So get gone baby
Get gone baby
Baby get gone
Can’t face the night
With myself
I like company
Good for my health
I’m closing my eyes
On this memory foam
Without you here
Without you home
So get gone baby
Get gone baby
Baby get gone
So get gone baby
Get gone baby
Baby get gone
So get gone baby
Get gone baby
Baby get gone

Bob
Wonderful work - super catchy chorus, excellent vocal and a sympathetic backing band.
Top notch song writing.
Peter
That's cool.
I like the arrangement - good choices.
The only tweaks I'd suggest is to EQ away the click in the kick so it's more thud and use a little EQ to reduce the level of the high hat.
Good work!
Bob, one thing I can count on when listening to a new tune of yours is that the vocal will be great and the lyrics excellent and you've done it again! Nice work! Thanks, Torrey
That's a really extra-fine folk-rock song. Simple and to the point, yet still leaves me with some room for imagination. Loved your vocal and the tonally well-matched high-distorted guitar. Really like this.
Nice work. I especially like the acoustic in this and the other instrumentation that complement the melody and your voice. Catchy chorus!
Loved this song Bob. This sounds really good on the headphones. Super backtrack. Excellent vocal and lyric. Well done
hi bob great production on this love the vocal everthing sits perfect great job thanks eric
Peter,
I appreciate that - thanks!
Bob
Excellent, as usual. Solid production, poetic lyrics, sparse but effective arrangement.
I liked the fade out with the dry kick.
Bob,
Cool tune—nice inviting feel to this one. Great vocal keeps the listener hanging on the next word. Production stellar as well. I always struggle with drums on my tunes—not so much anyone else on this board—and here I think you just nail the drums. Really provides some good backbone. The electric guitar kills as well. Excellent work!
All the best,
Deej
Man, there is something about your music that gets me every time!
Loved everything about this, Bob, well done!
Ray,
Thanks - appreciate the listen.
Bob
So cool!
you are the ambassador of what you call simple lo-fi
another great write, excellent vocal with a catchy chorus
I love all your songs but this may be my favorite
nice to hear your music again,
Kenny
Nice work on this one, Bob
It gets right to the point - very concise, and very well executed. All the trademarks of a solid tune. Your vocals are memorable and stand out well, and it is perfectly catchy as well.
You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing!
Torrey,
That's very kind - thank you.
Bob
Bob,
Your songs know just how to get under the skin - simple and catchy, yes, but with some cool, quirky lyrics that leave space for the imagination.
And of course that signature clear upfront vocal.
I think you`ve made as good use of the Americana RT`s as anyone posting here.
Excellent work!
Robert
Tangmo,
That is very appreciated - thanks so much.
Bob
Much appreciated - thanks.
Bob
Bob,
Outrageously good!!
Terrific write. Love the BAND! And your vocal/delivery is one of your best ever.
This truly sounds like an opening cut off an album - an introduction that says "Listen up! You are in for a treat!" Cool album-cover picture to go with it....
One of your best (among so many good ones). You just keep getting better...

We rarely use a quote in a response but, man, this just nailed our feeling. There is never any fluff in your lyrics. Nothing to add and nothing to take away. THE sweet spot.
"Can’t get along
With my dreams
I lose my footing
Fall off the beam
I’m lost in the city
On some avenue
Without a name
Without a clue "
Whoa, if that doesn't invite you in nothing will!
All the cool "Bob Signatures" are here > great band, write, arrangement, vocal and mix.
Yeah, we like it!!!

I wish I had written that.
Bob this is without a doubt my favorite thing from you.
Gutsy and brilliant to the core.
This is what rock and roll is about about man.
LOVE it.
Scott,
Thanks - very appreciated.

Hi Bob,
Kenny set it all, from my POV. I agree with him completely. You never disappoint!
Alan
Wow Bob, this is special and one of your best. You've demonstrated here how less is certainly more. The lyrics are first class and so is the vocal, not to mention the overall arrangement and production.
I agree with Floyd that the kick drum could do with less 'click' and more low end, but that's nothing in the scheme of things. This is a terrific track.
John
David,
Thanks. I like that dry kick as well... LOL
Bob
Deej,
I appreciated that - thank you for the kind words.
Bob
Great write! I love the chorus - the front to back play on the line.
I like the reverb on your vocal, just right.
You've captured an emotive vibe and delivered another great song!
Great!! Love everything about it. Good vocals, catchy melody and great lyric lines. You rock. I think this is my favorite of all the ones you've posted.
Dave,
Thanks - that's very kind of you.
Bob
Bob nice lyrics ,nice vocals and bobby Goldsboro feel, I hope that is a compliment.
Because I loved this guys vocals , when I was younger.
Kenny,
Thanks so much. I am enjoying your work as well.
Bob
Deryk,

Bob
Floyd,
That made my day... Thank you so much.
Bob
Janice & Bud,
Thanks so much - appreciate your support and kind words. Means a lot.
Bob
Fantastic vibe Bob!! Just so pleasant to hear the music roll by. Great sonic texture you've created. Always like your vocals!! Take care. Greg
David,
That's very nice of you - thanks so much.
I am enjoying all your music as well.
Bob
Al,
Thanks - very appreciated.

"rsdean"...
First thing I noticed about "Baby, Get Gone", was the size and presence of the sound: "phat", steady, implacable and spacious-sounding drum work, sinuous and interlocking guitar lines, wave-like but subtle volume level changes that created the effect of the song moving around in space, surround style...I guess I'm trying to say that your production sensibilities are solid, imaginative. "Great sonic texture", as Greg Johnson said in his post.
The song itself is sensuous, stark, full of spare images that blossom in the mind, fade out, and then flash into life, over and again, with each line of verse. It just has that life-seen-from-all-sides sound to it.
Concerning your lyrics, I liked the brevity of the lines. You sang them as though your breath was halted by the emotion that each phrase conjured up.
Haunting, powerful, yet measured and reflective. That's how "Baby, Get Gone" affected me, "rsdean". If this was on a record, I'd play it last, for maximum effect.
Caught up in it,
LOREN (.a.k.a. "bluage")
John,
Much appreciated - thanks!
Bob
Lawrence,
Thanks for listening and the kind words.
Bob
This is the best song I have heard from you, nice pop melody with catchy simple chorus. Reminds me of Lou Reed, could be a perfect fit/hit for an Indie movie. Electric and acoustic guitar play well together. Excellent mix, your voice sounds very clear.
Janne
Great song and production Bob. Everything meshed together. Very good mix and write. Enjoyed this a lot. Time for me to "get gone" to another listen.....
Donna,
I appreciate that - thanks!
Bob
Wow, one of your best we think.
Everything sounds so right, the vocals, the guitars.
And we love that AltCountryMoody RT BTW.
Rob and Anne-Marie
beatmaster,
Thanks very much. I am also a big Goldsboro fan, especially his early stuff.
Bob
Greg,
Much appreciated - thank you.
Bob
Bob,
You've done it again! This song really pulled me into it. I'm with Bud and Janice in that the first verse lyrics grab hold and reel the listener in big time. There's no escaping the song after that. The backing is a perfect frame for your songwriting and your signature vocals.
Definitely one to be proud of!
All the best,
Noel
Loren,
That was an extremely generous review... Thank you - I appreciate the listen and time you put in to comment.
Bob
Janne,
That is very appreciated - thanks so much.
Bob
Charlie,
Thanks for the kind words.
Bob
Rob and Anne-Marie,
Thanks - that is very appreciated.
Bob
Noel,
Thanks - that is very kind and appreciated.
Bob
Bob,
Wonderful vocal on the very tight rhythm!
This song reminds me of John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads" a little bit.
I agree with floyd.
This truly sounds like an opening cut off an album - an introduction that says "Listen up! You are in for a treat!" Cool album-cover picture to go with it....
Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Shigeki,
Thanks so much.
