Very cool tune. First thing that popped into my head when the song started was a picture of a boat cruising down the Rhine River. Well done

Wow - what a stunning tune, Graham smile Very pretty, and very authentic feeling. Love the simplicity here - really gives the instruments room to breathe. Has an almost relaxing quality to it.

Great work, and thanks for sharing!

Graham,
The notes skip and slither in sprightly dance here.
Love the change at 1:15.
Enchante!

Thanks Scott, took me quite a few attempts to get this right

REALLY agile playing Graham,
You're a closet Highland Francophile.
I'm a real sucker for French Chanson melodies.

Thanks Deryk, the accordion lends itself to so many styles, French being my favourite

Graham,

You are a master of 3/4 rhythm accordion. Your playing is so smooth. Somehow you manage to avoid all the squeaks and squeals so many accordionists cannot. Very pretty!

Hey thanks Alan, far from being a master as there's many many more better exponents than myself

Hi Graham, this is a very nice one. Reminds me (positively) of the songs that the hury-gurdies in Amsterdam play. Very fine chord progression ! And a very soothing nice video.

Lang may yer lum reek...

I took some time listening to this at different days to post a comment. My father in law is a bayan (Russian accordion) player and also former instructor.
I have heard a many hours of "live" accordion music. At times when people arrange music for specific instrument, unless they play it, do not capture the "feel" of the instrument they are writing arrangement for.

I think you totally captured it. It felt good to me. I also sent it to my parents in law. I was interested to know their opinions to see if it differs from mine. They are both musicians and play some very complex stuff. They liked it too. Until I told them that it was most likely played on keyboard, they thought it was an accordionist playing.

P.S. Maybe I am wrong and you played it on accordion?

Nice work!

Yes it WAS played on a Scandalli super V1 accordion, that's my main instrument. I like to compose slow airs & ballads on a keyboard. Started playing the lap steel guitar 18 months ago as well
