Tell Me When
© 2018 Kenny Leverett
Spent some time being on my own
Can’t shake the loneliness for too long
Too long for too long
When someone comes along
And you feel like you can’t live
Without her without her
Tell me when
You’re gonna let me in
To that heart that you guard so closely
I’ll be kind
Bide my time
I’ll wait for you
Cause all the love that I’ve known
Doesn’t compare to the love you own
Tell me when
You’re gonna let me in
To your heart
If you believe the things I say
That my love won’t fade away
I will stay won’t fade away
Tell me when
You’re gonna let me in
To that heart that you guard so closely
I’ll be kind
Bide my time
I’ll wait for you
Cause all the love that I’ve known
Doesn’t compare to the love you own
Tell me when
You’re gonna let me in
To your heart

First of all. I'll say it again. I am a fan! The walk down on the chorus is super. I loved the BG vocals. It adds something special rather than just singing a straight harmony. Great emotional delivery. You're so good at that. Another fine song. Tom
Wow - what a tune! You did an outstanding job with this. The progressions are superb, and your voice is a perfect fit. The gravelly tone gives it a lot of nice texture. Extremely catchy as well without being in your face about it.
You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing
It's great to see you back posting music again, Kenny, you have something special going on IMHO.
I'm not going to repeat what I always say, other than another good song and I enjoyed the listen!
Kenny,
I love the way you moved from the folky opening into that chorus ( which has echoes of some of those great Beatles chord progressions).
Super harmonies behind your powerful lead vocal.
Really good!!
Robert
Loved it, Kenny!
Cool song. Good write. KILLER vocal.
You got the most out of a "simple" band. Good mix.

Great song Kenny.
I especially liked the chord progression and the backing vocals.
Super job.
Kenny
You are on a roll. Another excellent song sung with passion.
Enjoying all of them.
Peter
Nice delivery on this one... your vocal fits the lyrics so well... Good writing & good job on the performance!
Very cool intro. Got me into the song really fast. Just a super vocal too. Very cool chord progressions. I too especially like the chorus walk down as well. Made to song very memorable...
Nice one Liked the layout and lyrics of the song.
And well produced Vocals.

So excellent!
Bob
Kenny, I really like that song of yours. Very nice backing track, and your voice is really amazing.
Stefan
As always the write and vocals are outstanding...sung with so much heart.
Given that what struck us is the arrangement.
The progressions, the "band," the intro, the chorus and the BGV's all add up to a both creative and engaging package.
And that package is glued together with a very nice mix.
Man, you never release any filler...everything is over the top good.
We are enjoying it!

Hi Kenny,
Holy smoke, man! If you've ever posted a less than stellar song, I've yet to hear it. So great to have you back and posting again. It's all been said already. I agree with everything that's been said - particularly about the chorus and b/g harmonies. This little package is wrapped tight and is a great preeent for the rest of us. Excellent work. Best to you.
Alan

Robert,
Thanks for noticing all that, got Beatles in my dna, if I hear something in a chord progression
that sound anything like them , I keep it and do something with it.

hey floyd,
thanks so much for the listen and kind words,
a simple band leaves more air and space to breathe in
Kenny, I liked the less is more approach you took with band on this! It really helps the vocal stand out, which in my opinion, is what this tune calls for! Another fine job! Thanks, T

Hey Scott,
I appreciate your listen and kind words, I think that chorus progression is
always universally liked (kinda Stairway and many other rock classics)
Well, I'm late for this train, because it's all been said. The vocals hooked me in. Nice arrangement - sounds like a classic. The chord changes got my attention.
I'll just echo what David Snyder said: super job.

Killer vocal!

Crossroads, seem to come and go, yeah
The gypsy flies from coast to coast
Knowing many, loving none
Bearing sorrow, having fun
But back home he'll always run
To sweet Melissa
Thanks for the listen and kind words
