A new Southern Fried song, helped along with BIAB using the drums, bass , and pedal steel. Remixed, Re Enjoy!!! CLiff and Corey
Lyrics in the key of d
We were set to be married yesterday
invitations were sent , friends came from far away
she was a lovely bride indeed, how she made me smile
if she asked me to, I would have crawled a country mile
but a hard rain came 2 days ago
the car she was driving skidded out of control
it went over a bridge to the water down below
and that's no place for a pretty young bride to ever have to go
(chorus)
Now I'm standing on a bridge whispering her name
and the way that deputies talking nothings gonna be the same
one step from paradise or the darkness down below
whether it's angels or her i see I just dont know
Instrumental
(chorus)

The drums are a little loud and the two leads trample on each other a bit which is probably more noticeable as the tones are similar.
The steel's a little too far back.
I think you've a really terrific song that needs a remix.

Ray, I concur, after resting the ears this morning, I can plainly hear what needs to be changed. Hope to get it this evening. Thanks for the info. Thanks for the listen!!! CLiff
Really nice work on this
I'm a fan of the tune - definitely has that southern fried sound we all know, and I like that is' nicely catchy without being in your face. And considering you don't write many sad tunes, I thought this was executed extremely well.
You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing!
Good one y'all! Those sad songs are a lot harder to write than many folks realize.
Well done!
J&B
Really nice,
maybe Southern fried with some collard greens thrown in
like the guitar work and vocals
this is the southern sound that the Rolling Stones were drawn to
enjoyed the listen guys!
Kenny
Thank You Deryk , it is so much easier to create songs starting with BIAB, awesome tools, such professional sounds. When writing from scratch, most of us have to come up with a tune, work some lyrics, put it to a recorder, track it, mix it master it. HA I love that regardless of the outcome it is our baby from start to finish. I think the Beatles and Stones would really have loved the ability to do it this way instead of depending on engineers for recording. Great to be alive today with technology so advanced in music. Thank You J&B, you guys are pure inspiration to us, always enjoy your music and feedback. CLiff
Thank You Kenny, we went a little guitar heavy on that mix, i will lighten the load soon and smooth it out some. keep those great songs coming Kenny, we love em!!!!
I went a little guitar heavy, my son and bandmate, Corey, corrected me. HA Cliff
Excellent tune. Super vocal and lyric. Look forward to hearing the minor tweaks in the mix
Thank You Scott, it will be this weekend when I get the time. Cliff
Cliff,
This is a great song. I listened to it a couple of times and really love the interplay with the guitars - it sounds alive and "live".
Great vocal as well.
Bob
I enjoyed the "southern" groove of this and the guitars ( dropped into the mix a little ) give it a nice duet feeling.Vocals have that authentic country sound you do really well.
Please post the lyrics- sounds like a good sad story.
Robert
That pedal steel sounds really good, and I really like the smooth sound of the vocals.
Thanks for sharing!
Nice work cliftond! Really dig the chord progression on this. The petal steel is a great touch. Well done!
Nice sounding country rock tune... it brings back pleasant memories of some of those beer joint bands I've played in... Thanks, I really enjoyed it.
Good song, Cliff!
Nice job on the vocals and great hearing the live guitars in there. Mix needs some very minor tweaks as others have noticed, but it's very close.
Enjoyed!

Cliff & Corey,
A very cool sound. Good song. (A lyric would be nice to follow along...)
Has a sort of The Band or Grateful Dead vibe to it.
Enjoyed.

Thanks Jim, the music that is considered good nowdays, is a bit different from what we are used to hearing. Cliff
Nicely done!! Cool old jam song feel! Enjoyed it! Take care. Greg
Cliff, I always knew you reminded me of someone and couldn't quite put my finger on it until today and I realized who it was....Van Morrison. This is something he could have done. I have a feeling this is one you aren't done with yet but you're off to a good start! I always enjoy the vibe of your tunes! Thanks, T
