Hi All,
Here's a simple little song about endings and beginnings...
This is called [Link no longer valid]
The forecast calls for permanent rain
And through the foggy glass I can see
Muddy footprints are what remain
So close the doors and lock your home
And gather up all the broken bones
The sounds tonight outside my window
Are whispering so quietly
Those voices have a haunted glow
A wicked shadow I cannot condone
Trying to cover all the broken bones
I was paid a visit by two angels
They kinda resembled you and me
One carried a box of silver bells
The other dragged a bag of stones
Collected with all the broken bones
The visionary soapbox preacher
Walking both sides of the street
Didn't see what was beneath her
Yellow tape and a danger zone
Tumbled in with all the broken bones
Pay the ghost and clear the loan
Time to bury all the broken bones
Time to bury all the broken bones

Bob, I have such an appreciation for your gift of writing lyrics! You have a way of continually coming up with great tunes! Nice work! Thanks, T
Bob,
Unmistakeably Robert Dean. Lyrics that get deeper as the song goes ( love the verse about the angels visit!) and a nothing more to add arrangement.
Another excellent song!
Robert
Torrey,
That's very kind of you - thanks.
Bob
Yes, Robert pretty much summed it up for me. You have such a distinctive style, and the writing is always top notch.
Excellent!
Robert,
That is very appreciated - thanks so much.
Bob
Cool song. You come up with more ways to write a break up song than anyone I know. You're like the Charles Dickens of break up songs. Nice production too.
As others have said. wonderful lyrics. The opening line sets the tone for the song. Fantastic and fresh sensory imagery throughout. I enjoyed listening to this.
Great work on this rsdean! Very captivating lyrics and love the overall timbres. Well done!
Yeah, this is an instant classic.
Fabulous lyrics as everyone has said.
Loved it Bob.
Some great lyrical images here Bob!! I really like the build too.....perfect band and arrangement for the tune! Nice work!! Take care. Greg
Nice!
Your arrangement is excellent, and vocals fitting - as always - but it's the lyrics that carry the song, and you again show an knack for words that are both poetic and tell a compelling story.
Love this, Bob.
Killer write. Hard-edged, poetic wordsmithing. Killer.
Super use of the BAND. Excellent mix.

"The forecast calls for permanent rain"
What a setup for all that follows.
The lyric is slightly Delphic in nature...yet the listener can connect dots and participate in painting the picture.
Your writes are consistently high bar and always engaging but we have to put this waaaay up there.
Man, just reading the lyric is worth the price of admission but then you wrapped it all up with a fine vocal, arrangement and mix that just glued it all together so nicely.
Superb!
J&B
Edit: Back for another listen and Janice paid it a superbly high compliment by saying it sounded like a Lucinda song. Yeah!
