This is another older song.... one of my favorite.

It's mostly BB and RT's. But I'm on the mando and the guitars.

Silent Night

Hope you enjoy this classic.

I enjoyed that Herb, thought it was quite good.
As one who is dedicated to sacred music, I find
myself asking, "What congregations would take to
this song, and which would reject it?" I refer to
matters both of taste and what the people have grown
accustomed to. At the same time, we don't want to
find ourselves locked into styles that are simply
passe. The litmus test is, "Does the music contribute
to the mood of reverence and meditation, or does it
detract?" Congregations that have become accustomed to the very upbeat style wouldn't have it any other way.
Thanks for posting that Silent Night.

Hi Herb,

Silent Night has been one of my favourite songs/melodies since I was a little child. I think you have made a great version of it and I very much enjoyed listening to your track.

Only thing that we maybe could discuss is the intro. Not that it is bad, but do we really need it? When I knew I was going to listen to Silent Night I was anticipating the melody to start right away and got just a little disappointed that I had to wait for a few bars. Maybe it is just me being silly. :-)

Thanks for listening.

Ed... so what conclusion did you come to regarding audience?

Will.... probably... I do intros for most of the stuff I do...

Thanks for listening

Well I spent more time than I have available tonight by playing along with your work...

Really excellent. I was a bit thrown by the intro - not sure if I had clicked the right song - but once the melody kicked in, I figured out I was in the right place. wink

Nothing wrong with the intro, just not what I expected.

I expected it to be an instrumental, too... and then the singing started. laugh

A really enjoyable take on the song.

Vocals !! That was a surprise I thought it was an instrumental.

Nice arrangement and it put me in the spirit of xmas, if you knew me then you would know what an achievement that is.

Thanks.

Very cool version of the song Herb. This has been one of my favorites as well. Mandolin was a nice touch and a super vocal... Guitar sounded great. Well done

Another great Christmas song rendition by you. I liked this one too. I think the mandolin works well. No complaints from me. I will be listening to this version often.
