Here's the english translation of the lyrics :

I'm eclectic
in my music.
There’s not one style that obsesses me
but there are a thousand!
I’m electric
or acoustic.
It depends on the mosquito
who stings me!

I'm eclectic
in my rhythmic.
I like arpeggios,
I like very aggressive riffs.
I like and I approve
when there’s groove.
I like silences floating
around the notes!

Viva Johnny Halliday!
I can imagine him strutting this one in the dance section of his live show.

Thanks rayc,
When I wrote this song, I was not thinking about Johnny Halliday but it's true that's in some of his songs, there are punchy horn sections. Christian

Hello, there, "chris37"...

I am beginning to suspect that you are a musical wizard who possesses the power to travel through time, who drops into a nightclub, here, takes a fine seat at a concert, there, or intrudes invisibly on a recording studio where the great music of the past was being created as you listened to it, and experienced the living "happening" of it, right before your very eyes and ears.

If I could cite the proof of your powers, I'd nominate "J'suis éclectique", because it replicates the energetic, bluesy, yet "pop"-oriented sound of late 60's, early 70's R & B dance music here in America. The RealTracks horns call on the spirit of James Brown's driving, funky band as the blending rhythm electric guitars and the laid-back timing of the drums performance smooths everything up for dancing. The lyrics are especially noteworthy as they voice the sheer joy of music-making that you express quite often in your songs.

You got "big ears" that hear everything, "chris37". I truly enjoy the variety and eclecticism of your song posts!

Hi Loren,
It's true that I like many musical styles.
And to write songs is certainly a way for me to travel in the wonderful and rich musical universe !
I wish you a merry Christmas. Christian

Hi Christian,

a very good job on this one. The song got a good groove and the solos fit perfectly (which is not always that easy as I myself experience again and again).

Enjoyed the listen !

Cheers,

Stefan

PS: I only remember the early Johnny Halliday songs, but those were more Rock'nRoll tunes, weren't they...

Thanks Stefan,
To make a good solo, it takes patience to select right notes at the right place. Christian
