First song of the year from us, a ballad this time up.

The land in you

The Land in you (2019, Christiane Spruit)
1V
so deep
so endlessly deep
trying to bring my hope down low
to the vale in me
2
subtle moves
we made a few
between me and you
love and the proof
are we willing to lose
CHORUS
Oh does anybody know
how can I find
my way
to the land in you
3 V
fear
and she always appears
like a string of a lute
makes the nightbird mute

The band:

RealTracks in song: ~700:Bass, Electric, PopHalfNotesPush Ev 085
RealTracks in song: ~2503:Piano, Acoustic, HeldChords 085
RealTracks in song: 2870:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm CelticAirDave Ev 085
RealDrums in song:NashvilleEven16^3-a:Sidestick, HiHat , b:Snare, HiHat Open

Mixed with reaper using plugins from waves and iZotope, mastered with Ozone.

For those that interested in such things I'm using my tele for both guitar parts, rhythm guitar processed with the PRS amp sim, lead guitar processed with S-Gear. Both guitar parts also going through CLA-Unplugged.

I got the inspiration for the intro guitar part from a Brent realtrack, 2448:Guitar, PopDreamyBrent, something I've never done before, but I'll probably do it again at some point. Sounded cool so I stole a couple of his licks, I don't think he will mind smile

Also up on soundcloud, here: https://soundcloud.com/blue-attitude/the-land-in-you-featuring-chris-spruit

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to listen and comment, we appreciate it!

Nice work BlueAttitude! The lyrics delivered by Christiane are wonderful. The mix overall sounds well polished too. Thanks for sharing!

Dave,
very deep song.
Great vocals, arrangement and mixing. And those guitars....! Great solo!
I would like to hear drums more pronounced. This is a thought from casual listener, not somebody who knows smile

Thank you for sharing.

Dave / Chris,

Awesome song! Love the title and lyrics...

The tele sounds tremendous and the vocal is stellar. It has a fragile almost glass like quality. Simply outstanding!

Loved it!

This has a very nice dreamlike quality. I like the way your guitar answers the vocal in parts of the verse. Top-notch vocal. A very listenable (over and over) creation.

Hauntingly beautiful Dave! Love those minor chord changes in the verses! Great vocal from Chris! Her voice is such a perfect fit for your work! Loved that guitar tone and little quiet guitar parts in the background.....they are so sweet and really help make this track! I always love everything you do! Thanks, Torrey

Dave,

The title image is evocative and I liked the melody and vocal interpretation; soaring on the chorus with Christiane sounding almost ethereal.
The highlight for me is your guitar on this ( I thought that intro was an RT`til I read your
notes)... its all so subtle and supportive of the song!
Well done to you both.

Cool indeed.
lovely song and the arrangements are the right setting.
The voice suits the lyric and the melody suits the feel - well done.

Nice guitar tone and just the right amount of delay.
It may be worthwhile trying to lower the click in the kick drum during the rim shot/side stick sections as they have the click & tap have a lot of frequencies in common.

Very impressive, a great feel combines the music and vocals just perfectly, all delivered at a perfect tempo.

The mix is superb, nothing out of place, nothing that shouldn't be there, and nothing missing. A great production.

Very coo song. Nice changeup from your hard driving songs. Such a beautiful lyric and vocal. Dave your guitar work is first class. Love the full clean tone of the tele. Sweet playing. This one deserves radio play...

Dave, great job using the held chords in the verses and the busier piano in the choruses. The vocals are a spot on match to the lyrics and the guitar tone and touch works to perfection. You two are on a big roll with some wonderful songs. The mix is right there. Great stuff,Tom

I passed along your comments on the vocal to Chris, made her day! She wanted it to sound delicate and vulnerable.

And yeah, something very special about tele’s, especially for clean sounds.

Thanks, Bob!

"dreamlike" is exactly the mood we were shooting for with this, so happy you picked up on that! And doing guitar lines around a vocal is something I always like to do, assuming there is room to do so.

Glad you liked this, thanks for the listen and comments!

This is captivating in a cool ethereal way.

We've oft said it but you and Chris have a (perhaps synchronicity is the word) way of complementing each other's contribution that is rare in the music world.

We talked about this but just decided to say that this is one of the best blues rock based ballads we've heard...and that covers a lot of territory smile

As floyd said EVERYTHING is good. Over the top good.

Wow!

Wow - you really did an amazing job with this. It's a gorgeous, lush tune with a perfect arrangement. It sounds really professional, and the vocals on it are stunning. Nicely catchy as well, and the guitar work is fantastic.

Not a thing I'd change - thanks for sharing smile

Hi, Robert,

I often use the acoustic guitar RT's, and sometimes the electric rhythm guitar RT's, but the lead guitar is always me. I figure the lead guitar is my job, plus it's fun smile

Thanks as always for your support!

Can you expand on what you mean by lowering the click in the kick drum if you don't mind? I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Hi Scott,

Yes, my tele has been my favorite guitar for a while now, it's the one I always grab if I just feel like playing and it's the best for the clean sounds I think.

Thanks!

Wow, love the vocal on this—of course, accentuated brilliantly by the piano and those slick underlying guitar (and lead) licks. Nice ratcheting up on those drums in chorus. Really digging this one. Nicely done!

I love this song! Man, I'm huge on songs that create a mood/atmosphere. To me, this is one of those songs.

I'm not a guitarist, so I don't feel overly confident giving opinions on that. However, I am an expert on what I like; and to me; the guitars in this really create the environment for the vocals to do their thing. It's impressive when someone can make such a statement without having to be in the spotlight. Nice job!

I'm really understating how much I like it; but this will get many listens with my head shaking in a amazement.
This song haunts me already.
