Hello, forum friends

After a little blank, this is my first post of this year.
I stumbled over the sidewalk curb at the end of last year, I fell and fractured my right hand and my right cheek and was hospitalized until recently.
Fortunately last week my doctor removed the plaster cast of my right hand, so I can now operate my computer again.

This song is re-arranged for our latest recording session in this winter.
I wrote it with Japanese girls' rock band style.
I would like to introduce you two versions with the same score, which are the RealTrack version and the live band version.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Summary of lyrics:

Hey, what do you think of this hairstyle?
It’s so nice, isn’t it?
It took me two hours, I'm rather confident of it
What do you think he is noticing this thing?
If he is not, I’m getting to a big jam

I always refine myself so that I can be a stylish girl
My face, my body and my heart too
I want to make him say that I am a nice girl
Today, tomorrow and in the future too
I always say to myself to do my best
Because even my friends are rivals

Hey, do you think girls’ hearts are fragile
But I have never cried a little in front of him!
Do you feel pity for me who is likely to collapse
But in order to grab love, I must try not to bother

A lot of mails come to me from various boys every day
But he is the only boy I love
English tests are full of blank
Sorry to my mom 's angry face!
Punch for myself!
Let's overcome strongly now
That's heaps of fun and would grace any of the last 1/2 doz excellent girl character based Anime or Hentai.
Both are fun but I like the live version a little more.
I don't know if you treated the vocals differently or it's a result of mastering but the vocal in the RealTracks version is a little harsher than the live.
I love the flowing, complex vocal melody.
The Japanese pronunciation of the Go Go baby refrain is also VERY cute.
SUPERB fun.
I reckon you ought to do a Baby metal version - it has all the elements.
I like the sound of the Live Band Version better...
The vocal & guitar seem to fit better in the mix...
I enjoyed listening to both of them.
PS... Watch out for those curbs wink
What a fun and lively tune! Very engaging, and extremely catchy. I loved both version equally actually, personally. I do agree the vocals sit a little nicer in the live version. Regardless though, a solid write and well executed tune!

Thanks for sharing smile
Loved this Shigeki. So creative. Well done. Harmonies were very cool
Awesome, fun

very catchy, nice melodies

nice pop/rock song

the Brent solo sounds good!

enjoyed the listen,

Kenny
Great work on this as usual! Another wonderful song for sure. Glad to hear your hand is doing much better!
Hi Shigeki,

It's good that you are back. Sorry to hear about your accident, but I'm happy that your hand is "working" again.

I think the live band version sounds the best, simply because the mix down is much better. So I am not trying to "talk the RealTracks version down" - it is a nice track to, but just not as well mixed as the live version. The vocals especially are "placed" better in the live version mix.

Just my opinion.

Thanks for sharing.
Will
What a fun song! I really enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see you back around again and glad that you're on the mend!
Shigeki Adachi,

Very catchy, very "Pop"...

TAKAKO does a fine job with the vocals.

Between the two versions, I prefer the RealTracks version. The bass and drums combination is balanced and has both clarity and punch. The guitars are nice and crisp (though I thought they could be a bit louder). The vocal could "sit back" a little - which I think is what other folks are referring to when they like the live version (though I found the live version vocals i bit too low in that mix). Somewhere in the middle of the two.

I hope you are healing well. Good to see you back.

floyd
We enjoyed both versions. We agree that the vocals have more clarity on the live version.

But both of them are fun listens!

J&B

PS Glad you have recovered well from the accident.
Very nice and sweet; enjoyed listening a lot. A really good arrangement.

Chheers,

Stefan
Welcome back for the new year! Very nice pop song, has very nice 60's retro feel, although the sound is more modern, kind of Motown girl Group + J-Pop combination. I like both versions, but I prefer slightly the RT version, because it is bit crisper.

Janne
Wow, quite a departure for you Shigeki!! Very nicely put together. Reminds me of the 60's/70's era music that I love so much. Enjoyed it!! Take care. Greg
So glad you're okay and back to making music. I liked the live version the best. Fun track, the lead singer has such a pretty voice and the song is so playful it sounds great.
Animaro . . .

Yeah, this has a nice hook right out of the gates, and I agree with those above that it’s just one of those songs that work better live . . . sometime the energy of live just can’t be captured. Great melody and beat/rhythm to this one. A total head-rocker and foot-tapper. Good stuff!

Kind regards,

Deej
Shigeki

You are certainly a versatile composer. Very clever stuff, liked them both. Hope the hand is getting better.

Shigeki, I agree with Ray all the way on this! I think the key word is "fun". Enjoyed it! Thanks, Torrey
Hi Shigeki Adachi,

I'm pleased to read that you're making music again. I was wondering where you were. The forum is just not the same without you smile

This is fantastic. You mention that TAKAKO is a jazz vocalist! Wow! She does a great job.

I liked both versions of the song. You've created a fine work... it's catchy, it's very, very well arranged and it gleams with all your usual musicianship.

All the best,
Noel

Shigeki Adachi, I’m glad to hear you are doing much better. I hope your accident didn’t have anything to do with my bourbon recommendation. The song is a fun listen that moves along quite nicely. I liked both versions and they are mixed to your high standards. Good one, Tom
I absolutely LOVE THIS! It is so appealing on all levels. The lyrical content based on the English translation are cleverly fun.
animaro,

This is very well done, very pop, very catchy. Great vocals on a song that’s not easy to sing. I’m impressed by the range of the pieces you post on this board—this is different from what I’ve heard from you and all the more impressive for it. Awesome stuff!

Humble regards,

Shigeki,

This is so great.

I am so sorry to hear about your fall, but glad you have recovered. How horrible.

Don't do that again man!

I was looking for the Japanese Girl Rock Band Style but could not find it. Is that in a Super Pak for Japanese owners only????

Unfortunately PGMusic has not prepared so many Japanese pop styles.
However, most of J-Pop songs are able to be substituted by various American rock styles.
This song is also substituted by American rock style.
