Hello, forum friends

Several years ago, I produced an original CD album which title is “Escargot” with 10 songs for our local vocalist, Natsuki Yoshikawa.
This song is the last song of the album and written with full orchestration.
The lyrics were written by Hazuki Morino, a female lyricist belonging to our local lyricist group named "Escargot" with deep interaction with the music circle I belong to.
Our music circle is constantly making a lot of works jointly with the group “Escargot”.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Title: 幸せの構図 (Translation: Composition of Happiness)

Style is HRPORK44.STY (MIDI)
Bass (49) assigned to Contrabasses,
Strings (50) assigned to 4 French Horns,

Style is alberti.STY (MIDI)
Acoustic Piano (1) assigned to Concert Piano,

Additional instruments (1st violins, 2nd violins, Violas, Cellos, Oboe, English horn, Bassoon & Harp) scored by me.
All instruments played with EastWest symphonic orchestra except Concert Piano played with Steingberg The Grand.

Summary of lyrics:

We suddenly stop in a forest path
Filled with the melody of the wind
And the sun shines are pouring through the trees

We smile with each other bashfully
And I pray you will stay with me forever and gaze at me continuously

When we are sad and our eyes are filled with tears
Let’s remember our brilliance of today
And let's light up our hearts with it

Even if we have no words to speak
I believe we are still looking at the same landscape

We smile with each other bashfully
And I pray you will stay with me forever and gaze at me continuously

When I'm tired and my heart becomes tattered
Please pour your dreams plentifully and fill my heart enough

The small path in the summer is shining white
And surely lasting to tomorrow
We will keep drawing our happiness with several ways
Really well done! It flows really well, and I appreciate that you included a translation of the lyrics. Really good progressions and the production is top notch .Thanks for sharing smile
A beautiful & well-done production...
It reminded me of the cinema song classics done in this country...
I enjoyed listening.
BTW... have you completely recovered from your unfortunate accident?
Shigeki Adachi,

This is beautiful.

The orchestration is completely pro sounding. Very well mixed.

Natsuki Yoshikawa is terrific.

I enjoyed the listen. Well done.

Shigeki

Absolutely beautiful scoring - simply pro level and classy. Lovely vocal and tune.
A wonderful production.

Hi Shigeki,

What a wonderful piece of music. The arrangement and orchestration is just spot on. It sounds like a soundtrack for a movie or a game - it is one of the best compositions I have heard in this forum!

You did very, very well on this track - as did Natsuki Yoshikawa (really nice sounding voice)!

Will
Outstanding, production Shigeki. What a beautiful singer. LOVE the orchestration on this, it sounds so real and natural. I could listen to Natsuki for hours. Any chance of you recording song of the seashore ? It's a beautiful old Japanese lullabye and I know it'd go down a storm on here
Simply beautiful classic pop ballad with masterful arrangement and top vocalist.

Janne
It almost reads like a collection of haiku.
The Japanese vocal leaves a similarly elegant impression and the orchestration adds broad brush stokes of ink to damp silk.
Well done.
A beautiful song

with such a gorgeous melody, very nice vocals

super mix

enjoyed the listen,

Kenny
Shigeki,

This is absolutely beautiful. Your music always transports me to such a peaceful place. This is sublime. Great work by everyone.

I saw the comment about "what should we call this"--is it really J-Pop, etc.

I often do custom labels on my stuff because I cannot find a genre that fits me.

To me, I would call this "Orchestral Pop Ballad" or "Orchestral Pop" where some of your stuff is "Orchestral Jazz." It is very unique. That is just me though. I am not you. You should call it what you want!!

smile
Hi Shigeki,

Awesome composition with truly beautiful vocals.
Your production really stands out!

Rob and Anne-Marie
I'm not sure why, but for some reason in my head I connected this to Disney animated films (which I love, btw), it somehow seemed to be a good fit smile

p.s. I've said many words many times about the quality and artistry of your work already (all of which obviously apply here too), so instead I went straight for the conceptual for a change.
What a beautiful production Shigeki!! Excellent in every way! The spread in the mix is perfect and articulate! The vocalist has such a wonderful voice! The use of strings is as good or better than anything ever presented here! Thanks, Torrey
Beautiful song, beautiful vocal!!! Your melodies always knock me out! Another gem!! Take care. Greg

I am really glad you like this tune.
I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

I much appreciate your comment to the labels on my music.
I agree with you. I should probably try to think various ways and put accurate labels.
But I always put J-Pop on them.
Because they are sung in Japanese, and we have no custom to divide music strictly by jenre.
Most of the general popular songs in Japan are released as J-Pop.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Ok, this was awesome! Top notch song ALL the way around. The writing, the movement of the instruments, the tensions and releases, melodic interplay...wow!

What a great vocal as well! Tell Natsuki she has a BIG fan in the States! smile

Also, I especially like the instrumental break at 1:46. Very, very nice.

The only thing I would change is the number of times I've heard it so far. wink I will be listening to this many times.

REALLY great job!
Very nice. A certain style, here, both cultured
with broad appeal, direct to the emotions.
I came across Myanmar Gospel music about five
years ago and follow it as closely as possible.
Two distinct countries, for sure, but see if
there are not some shared things:

Hello, edshaw

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am really glad you like this tune.

I watched youtube video you introduced to me.
You feel something oriental in my song, though I have not noticed it so much so far.
It is a new discovery for me.

Shigeki Adachi:
Thank you for commenting. I am not certain
how to express what I have heard in the two examples.
My listening taste is influenced by music
I hear over media, not so much in live venues, these days.
As you probably know, if American producers feel there
is a niche, or market, for a certain sound, they will find
a way to produce it. Americans are subjected to a lot
of what might be termed, "experiments."
In your song, Natsuki Yoshikawa would seem to appeal
to upscale listeners of refined or cosmopolitan taste.
In my example, Akuk is working in contemporary
Christian music for all ages.
Americans, especially the youth, have an ongoing affinity
for rebellious behavior. I understand that is not the fashion
in Myanmar, maybe a little more in Japan, but certainly
nothing to the extent as in the USA.
Another observation -- while the western musicians appear
to work to excite the audiences, emotionally, the Oriental
artists, not so much.

Stunning tune . . . just beautiful in all aspects . . . vocal, melody, production. Great use of the orchestra. Felt like I was on Broadway listening to this. Just brilliant.

My very humble regards,

Deej
Such a lush, beautiful and cinematic piece. The arrangement, production and performance are stellar and evident we are in the presence of true artists. We are blessed to have you here on the forum. Outstanding production.
