Hi All,
I'm continuing my journey into simple lo-fi madness…
Anyway, here's something new - this is called
Girl In The City.
So easy now
I’m over my head
In this subway car
I’m gasping for breath
I think I’m in too far
So let me tell you girl
Something I can’t forget
I guess I missed you more
Like I just said
I miss that girl
Girl in the city
Yeah I miss that girl
Girl in the city
I’m running the street
In worn out shoes
I’m wearing out feet
I got nothing to lose
So let me tell you girl
Something I can’t forget
I guess I missed you more
Like I just said
I miss that girl
Girl in the city
Yeah I miss that girl
Girl in the city
I’m dazed and bruised
In a world of hurt
I’m looking for truth
I'm on high alert
So let me tell you girl
Something I can’t forget
I guess I missed you more
Like I just said
I miss that girl
Girl in the city
Yeah I miss that girl
Girl in the city
So let me tell you girl
Something I can’t forget
I guess I missed you more
Like I just said
I miss that girl
Girl in the city
Yeah I miss that girl
Girl in the city

Another high quality song Bob!! You along with Floyd are great story tellers in your music! I always enjoy your tunes! Great job with the vocals! Thanks, Torrey
Bob,
I love this sound. It is one of my favorite sounds--stripped down, gutsy, jangly, emotional and pure.
If we lived closer together I would say we need to do some giggin'.
Awesome song. It just keeps better with you man.
Catchy chorus. Emotionally convincing vocal delivery. Love the instrumentation. Good mix.
Robert,
Good write and production. Easy listen, no splinters. Lo-fi madness or something else, got to follow your heart
Thank you for posting!
Misha.
Bob,
Cool song!
Love the "clean and lean" lyric.
Love the BAND!
Love the vocal!
Nice mix.
Cool "album cover"!

Hi Bob,
Your songs are always so cool! You have a truly unique style and delivery - and it's captivating! Those drums are something special and the minimal backing tracks have exactly the right amount of fill and not a thing too much. Totally loved it! Love your style, Bob! Wishing you the best ...
Alan
Bob,
Cool sound . . . gravitating, magnetic vocal . . . clean and vibrant throughout. Love how you handle the volume of the instrumentation throughout—all the right touches. Ain’t got nothing else . . . just beautifully done from start to finish!
My humble regards,
Deej
What's lofi about it?
Rhythm heavy and uncluttered is perfect for a song that has good bones.
I still haven't become used to the heavily effected vocal but I'm getting there.
Kenny,
Thanks very much!
Bob
Excellent! Doesn't sound lo-fi to me, unless you mean something else by that.
Sounds like a well written, well performed (that signature vocal!), and well mixed song.
Your music is always just so good, loved this!
Bob, I’m beginning to think you’re creating your own genre. NYC low fi Amerifolk. You definitely have your own distinctive style and sound. And it is soo goood! Always a pleasure to listen to one of your creations. Loved it, Tom
Really well done! Nicely catchy and really good progressions on this. The solos fit perfectly, and the tone of the song matches your gritty vocals perfectly. A lot of emotion and sincerity is behind this one, you can tell.
Thanks for sharing
Love the earthy expressive vocals. Another good one. Have you ever written a bad song? Just kiddin. Always love your lyrics and music.
Torrey,
That's very kind of you - thanks.
Bob
Great song, mix, vocals, & production...
I liked the lyrical images... especially...
"I’m running the street In worn out shoes
I’m wearing out feet I got nothing to lose"
Nice vivid lyrics...
I really enjoy listening to your creations.
Gotta quote DS here: "I love this sound. It is one of my favorite sounds--stripped down, gutsy, jangly, emotional and pure."
That sums it up so well. It defines what we call Americana. This is a quintessential example.
The vocal and the mix is absolutely perfect for the stripped down lyric. Nothing left to add and nothing left to take away.
Outstanding!!!

Excellent vocal Bob. Guitar was so cool. Super backtrack and lyric.
David,

If you ever get up this way we will do an open mic in town.

Very well made song, your recognizable style is present nicely once again, from the first bars, it sounds more like your style than BIAB style. I like the mixing of drums, really enjoyable.
