I tried my hand at a ballad entitled, "Love Will Win."

For the piece, I used "Power Tracks Pro" 2018 exclusively. I arranged, performed and mixed the piece; my friend Maggie Rose sang the lyrics. Created in my home studio in Calgary, Alberta. Sounds are from Garritan and IK Multimedia Vsti plugins.

Verse 1:

Morning comes and sings a brand new song,
Music fills the air,
A hopeless past to overwhelm the soul,
Has no place to bare.

Verse 2:

Peace transcends and fills an empty heart,
Bringing forth faith and love.
Doubts break and daylight warms the soul,
A new time's begun.

Chorus:

I don't know why I see light in the sky,
When the journey's cold but He sacrificed.
Making a way to overcome this life
I will never be in doubt and hurt again,
Love will win.

Verse 3:

Day time sun sets and brings on the night,
Melody sings so gently, softly.
Light eternal leads the path so bright,
Hope for another day.

Wow - this is stunning! I loved the slow progression in this, and your vocals are gentle and pristine. When it finally reaches it's peak near the end it really is something to behold. I wouldn't bat an eyelash if I heard this on the radio.

Hey there Lorne, I really enjoyed the overall tone of this. I found this very easy to listen. Those strings are very relaxing to listen to. Great use of reverb on the vocals. Well done!

Wow - wonderful job. The production is close to flawless (to my ears, at least), the writing is infused with a variety of influences yet sounds unique to you, the singing is crystalline. A very different track to what I've heard lately - I loved it.

Pretty tune . . . very sweet vocal, too. Magnetic melody and hook in the chorus. This has a little bit of a Broadway show feel to it . . . which I really like. And overall the production is just really solid—great mix. Enjoyed this one a lot.

What a great set of melody and words. This has the soaring feel of a song that might pop up in a film or theater, but also fits as an anthem contemporary christian. For the record, I agree with the title.

Well done all around...the vocal, the write, the arrangement and backing tracks are all engaging.

Sweet melody and lyric.
The arrangement is just right.
The voice is solid, confident and expressive when singing loudly and strongly but there are a few wavering notes in the softer passages - particularly before the full band comes in.
Nothing to rush home and burn but just a few spots here and there. If you're using Reaper you could tidy them up in Reatune VERY easily/quickly or not as no one else had mentioned them and it may be my ears.

Gave another view, listen...I don't know what you "fixed", but this sounds great to me. This melody stayed with me a while last time, and on this second "listen" I was able to "sing-along" (at least mentally). That's a mark of strong material.
