Hi all. I really like the lazy groove to this style.

Songtradr was looking for a song about going home.
As I was working on this song at the time I rewrote the lyrics
about heading home through a storm.
Unfortunately I was unsuccessful with Songtradr.

All comments welcome. Rob4580

The Desert Drive

Going no where on an twisted desert road my eyes are staring at the lightening.
Only one head light to illuminate the dark feeling weary and I am tiring.

Chase a tumble weed it disappears from site dust is dancing cross the road.
I see the full moon from a break with in clouds I beg it take my heavy load.

Chorus
I do not Know with any certainty why your on my mind
I do not Know what the answer is to be but I love you so.

Bridge

Chorus
I do not Know with any certainty why your on my mind
I do not Know what the answer is to be but I love you so.

A clap of thunder takes focus my thoughts the rain is splashing on the windscreen.
The wind is swirling and is wiping at brush makes wonder where Ive been.

Oh so lonely on this twisted desert road

Very good singing as usual, I like how you used the lyrics as a guide and tweaked them as you sang to better fit the melody. Nice skill to have. Moody piece.
Good song, well put-together. The band is great and your low-and-lonesome vocals gave off that sense of parch. Nice little bit with the guitar wandering the lonely stereo field, too. smile
"Unfortunately I was unsuccessful with Songtradr."

Their loss. This is terrific. Love the vibe and those backing vocals.

A professional sound to be sure.
Hello Rob4580, I found this very easy to listen and I really dug the timbres. Thoroughly enjoyed the banjo to harmonize everything. Well done!
Rob,
Very nicely done. Everything is high standard. Probably this would make one of the top songs I have heard of yours to my taste. Would not change a thing. Enjoyed this much, listens very well!

Thank you for sharing!

Misha.
Another good song...
Sounds like you got 2 songs for 1...
Perhaps you'll showcase the original song & lyrics in another entry...
It would be interesting to compare the 2 of them.
Hi Rob,

This sounds really excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this presentation -- your singing, the songwriting, your arrangement, the mix, and the final production.

Really pleasant listening.

All the best,
Noel
Rob,

I love everything about this song... You have that faraway sound in your voice that matches the arrangement perfectly.

Great track selection and mix.

Bob
Good job on this one, Rob! Sounds good to my ears. Nice, full arrangement.

Steve
Rob, everything about this is great: the song, the "band" (and the guitar licks), the vocals and the mix. I like the banjo in the background too.
I could imagine Chris Rea performing this. Great job.
Cheers,
Mike
Your voice rides this song like a long haul truckie.
Nothing to pick at - top shelf.
The groove flows really nicely from the very first beats to the end. Great arrangement, I like especially the bass and the resonator guitar. And your voice is always pleasure to listen to.

Janne

WOW!! Great moody piece! You've created a very cool sonic experience here which is perfectly enriched by the lyrics. Reminds me of Chris Isaak. Well done Rob!!! Take care. Greg

Thank you Steve.
Sounds really good Rob! The instrument choices provide the perfect vehicle for that great vocal on this! Thanks, Torrey
Like Bob said you have that "far away" sound on this vocally and it perfectly fits the lyric.

As always your vocals are standout and the sparse write says it all...so well.

Nice!

Thank you Greg.
Very cool vocal Robb. This style of song suits your voice so well. Excellent guitar work. Well done
Nicely done - a refreshing throwback to that desert country sound. Nicely catchy, and I love the rustic approach to it. Definitely getting a dusty vibe from this one. Really tight vocals and a very powerful chorus.

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing smile
