Hi all,
I've composed this music like a tribute to Buena Vista Social Club.
Patrick Fournerat has written french lyrics and he sings.
He is telling his memories of one travel on Amazon river.

Here's an approximate translation :

Faded by the rain,
the river has changed color.
Everything becomes black and gray.
I can not hear the howler monkeys anymore.
Odor of humidity
and immobile forests;
alone in the dark,
the yellow eyes of crocodiles.

Transamazonia, Manaus, Santarem.
Transamazonia, Belem terminus.
sailing on the Amazon ...

Carried by the current,
the pirogue undulates gently
on the way to the east
in the spotlight.
Morning butterflies
with subtle colors
and childish games
of pink dolphins so slender.

The morning mist
left the place for the sun.
In the vegetable hell,
the din of the wake up.
The tired faces
by a sticky night
will be rewarded.
Nature is generous.

Christian,
you & Patrick should take a laptop, keyboard & microphone to a few cafes and sing these excellent songs to an audience.
Excellent.

Nice! Smooth - the melody slides beautifully over the backing. Could listen to this kind of music all day. Great job, guys!

This is fantastic lounge music in any language! Great groove, super backing tracks, vocals and harmonies and groove, this has it all. Fantastic lead guitar also.

You should be very proud of this.

What a pleasant listen, especially the harmonies at the end.

Maybe writing in French is the answer to my lyrical dry spell!

Je ne vois rien à dire.
Je ne peux penser à rien pour chanter.
Quelle meilleure langue pour chanter
d'une crise existentielle que française?
Tout sonne tellement mieux,
même si tout n'est rien du tout.

Yeah, that's the ticket! wink

But back to your song - well done! laugh

Chris & Patrick,
Excellent sounding tune! Nicely composed, vocals are A+. I like the "aged/mono" FX you used in places. Enjoyed it.

Thank you for sharing!
