Hi All,

Here's a song I wrote several years ago - this rendition features fresh instumentation, a new vocal and vinyl processing with Ozone.

The Scene

She is digging the scene
Minetta Lane never looked so clean
Headphones on to drown out the sound
Minding her business as the deals go down
She is digging the scene

Hey pretty baby can you look over here
Hey pretty mama can you lend me your ear
She ain’t your baby she ain’t your mama
She bought a ticket for the Café Wha?
She is digging the scene

Subways on time cause it’s late again
Heading back to Brooklyn at 2AM
All these hustlers wanna follow her around
They look her up and they look her down
She is digging the scene
She is digging the scene
She is digging the scene
She is digging the scene
She is digging the scene

Bob!

This is the Rock-iest song I've ever heard from you (I think).

I never considered how well your lyric style would fit a flat-out-rockin' sound... but MAN! does it ever.

A great DRIVING mix. Drums and bass are excellent. A nice balance of rock guitars. And the vocal sits in there just right.

REALLY enjoyed this. Had me rockin' in my chair.

A big WOW on this one, son...

Bob,
Hot stuff! Wholesome tune. Listens very well. Very cool use of scratch loop. I initially thought that was Fx'd Wha Wha pedal, until I looked at your recipe smile

Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

Bob,
I kind of squirm when reviewers say "this sounds so much like...,but hey, Lou Reed channeled with amazing authenticity through the Robert Dean style is just so good!
Bass and drums are loud and a little bit garage loose. Your vocal and the lyrics are fine... Cafe Wha? You take me there.

Robert pretty much sums it up for me.

Outstanding track!

Nice work on this! The Lou Reed comparison brought up is totally valid in my point, and never a bad thing in my mind. The song really has some punch to it, and your gruff vocal suit the instrumental perfectly.

Thanks for sharing smile

Enjoyable fast pace tune, great groove, that loop works nicely and the guitar going back and forth gives vivid third dimension feeling. I like your rock voice.

Out of the park, Robert. Yeah, early Lou Reed "Sweet Jane." Way to strike it, Robert.

You paint the picture well. I like this rockier side. The band is nice and loud, but not overly dramatic, leaving room for your signature vocals. Good one, Bob.

Hi Robert,

On your SC-page I wrote this is realy a Rocksong! My last song was qualified as a rocksong, where I thought it was just Pop. But yours surely is!
You did a good job there. And made good use of your vocals.

How cool is that?!!!!!

Hi Bob,

Wow!

You've really exercised your arrangement and production chops on this one. What a terrific listen! I sat here at my computer with my feet tapping, my face smiling and my brain thinking, "He sure is a good songwriter."

All the best,

Hi Bob,

I would never have imagined that I some day would hear a rocking track from you with "hip-hop"-like scratching...

I like it! It is a very well done track! And as always your vocal is shining...

Thanks a lot for sharing! Very enjoyable.

Bob,

I entirely agree with floyd.
This is the Rock-iest song I've ever heard from you (I also think).
There is also a scent of Bob Dylan.
Your vocals are great.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

A contemporizes rewrite of Waiting For My Mna. Just needed a drug reference and it'd be complete.
Perhaps a little less "sheen" in the vocal but other wise a very tidy track.

This is great kick @ss rock! This kind of sounds like Dylan singing rock. You vocal was excellent, as were your harmonies, backing tracks and mix.

An excellent job on this one!

Keep rocking!

'rsdean'...

The Scene moves, and grooves, and rocks, and rolls, "walks the walk", and "talks the talk" from the top to the bottom of the song.

The Real Tracks sound like they were waitin' for someone to put them to use in your composition. The music, your lyrics and your vocal performance of them could inspire a new dance with some serious attitude and some 'bomb' moves! I'd love to watch a video of this.

Rock on, 'rsdean'...
