Blue on You

Based on _BTGSHUF.STY & 422:Guitar

Thanks to Keith Roshto for lyric and vocal

Blue On You

Caught you out carousing late last night
In a sexy slinky red satin dress.
You were Painted like desire, body hotter than fire.
One look in your face confirmed you were not under duress.
It don't matter the hue,
That dress looks blue on you.

Well why are we fighting like cats and dogs?
Kick and scream, scratch and claw.
Can't we make up and just get along?
Why we gotta fight like cats and dogs?
As it stands right now, code blue!
Blue on you.

Moonlight cruise out into the bay.
Harvest moon shining down.
You took a slip over the bow; sorry I couldn't stay.
Rescue says your body may never be found.
harvest moon shining true,
Sure looked blue on you.

A sudden start and, I have to admit to being disappointed that, the song went into the solo after just one verse.
That the structure is, in essence, solos as "chorus" or "verse" is fine but I didn't find they held the repeats or melodic elements that carried me forward to the next change.
I though the lyrics and vocal performance were cool and wanted more of that to carry the narrative but it was wrapped up, Stephen King style, with a left turn and...
The arrangement was tidy and the style, augmented by the additional guitar, is appropriate.
Pretty cool but left me wanting more, (that may be a good thing).

Mr. Watson, Mr. Rashto...

This song, Blue on You, is so bluesy, it made me feel woozy (yeah, I'm corny, but then, my last name is Cobb -- jes' kiddin'!) laugh. The Real Style's got so much bump, swagger, and grit, that it made a bottle of moonshine jump off my pantry shelf onto the floor and dance a nasty, dragged-out, slow-grindin' shuffle with an ol' one-eyed alley cat named Mizz Mia Ow. Damn, but there's gonna be a hot time in the old place to-night, you sinners laugh wink !!!

Gentlemen, you nailed it, musically and lyrically. However, I think that if the woman in blue looked as good as you described, you sure should'a jumped in that black, moon-lit water and saved her so you two could "make up and just get along", ha, ha laugh grin !!!

Brushing the sawdust off my shirt and pants,

- bluage -

Hi Bobby,

You really settle into the groove very comfortably indeed. As I listened to the journey you took me on, I go the impression that you were totally enjoying putting this together. Your singing is strong and confident and great to listen to. The mix sat very comfortably in my headphones.

It's thumbs up from me!

Regards,
Noel

Nicely done! Loved the bluesy vibes on this, and your vocals flow phenomenally well over the instrumentation. A really nice mix too - I wouldn't bat an eyelash if I heard this on the radio.

Great work and thanks for sharing smile

Has a great bluesy feel and that's the most important thing. Felt like it needed an intro of some sort. Dripping with the blues. Singer was excellent. Guitar good, too. Lyric ending was a little severe. Really good overall.
