Hi All,

It's been a bit busy lately, but I thought I would share something new - this is called San Antonio.

In my mind today I saw you
Running wild through the summer
In the heat of the day
I can feel California
Ready to mourn ya
Headed where the dust winds blow
San Antonio San Antonio

In our days and nights together
Living hard through the winter
In the cold of the night
I left for California
Ready to mourn ya
Shiver when the desert turns cold
San Antonio San Antonio

In my old blue jeans and leather
Driving fast through the seasons
In the mist of the morning
I was in California
Ready to mourn ya
Wishing on the day growing old
San Antonio San Antonio

Another lyrical gem, Bob. Clever parallel structure of the verses. The vibrating guitar adds a nice touch to the mood of the song!

Bob, I had been gone for a while also but noticed when I starting posting again that you were missing! Great to hear a new one from you and it's like you haven't missed a beat! It's a great song with what I feel has your signature sound to it! Thanks, Torrey

Like your geographical lyricism, you got a style that resonates with me, I've said that before. Enjoyed hearing it again.

Hey Bob, great to see you back with a new song!

This has your signature sound for sure with those vocals and as always I love that tremolo guitar!

Loved it as I love all your music.

Very cool picture for the song graphic BTW!

A cool write. I love the way your lyrics make me think...

You have definitely found you BAND. I like that you keep that consistent sound. It works so well.

Excellent vocal. And a very excellent mix. EVERYTHING is at the right level.

Missed ya!

Just a great vibe.....infectious music!! Love your sound generally! Vocal is well done! Someone beat you to one of the only California rhymes with "warn ya" but you pulled out another cool one!! Nicely done!! Take care. Greg

U.S. place names have a long history as song titles in Australia: a large part of our cultural cringe.
I assumed it was in the dry lands but had to confirm by looking it up - Texas' 2nd most populated city.
Hwy Ten to the Golden burning state.
A solemn, sad rewrite of Route 66's depression (economic) migration as an emotional leave taking.
Nicely done.

Good to hear another enjoyable ballad from you. Nice images, like "Driving fast through the seasons" describing both the driving feel and nature. Simple but beautiful chord progression. Great band, the baritone guitar fits excellently the mood. Your break hasn't affected your excellent vocal delivery.

Cool song & lyrics...
I liked the way you rhymed "California" with "to mourn ya"...
Quite unusual & refreshing...
Your guitar also sounds great on this one...
I enjoyed the listen.

I`m glad someone mentioned the use of place in your songs -once again your emotional landscape, musical style and use of lyric repetition resonates with me- another very cool song!!

This is a really good song. The guitar is a real star in this song as is your vocal. Love dusters so this would be a great tune for a Eastwood movie Well done

Bob I missed this, but I like the the way you're writing about being in San Antonio and another member is writing at the same time about leaving San Antonio grin

Great lyric write, the words tell a fabulous story, and I like the way you have used the seasons to relate throughout the song.

Bob,

Signature sound in all respects—unmistakably a Robert Dean song. What I admire about your tunes is how crisp and alive the guitars and, well, everything really, sounds. Impressive production. Bravo!

"In the heat of the day
I can feel California "

"In the cold of the night
I left for California"

"In the mist of the morning
I was in California"

What a great way to show the passage of time!

It's great that you are back...we've missed you
and that signature band.

Everything we like about your productions is on display here.

The cool write/vocal, the stripped down track selection and
a mix that presents an excellent soundstage.

Kudos!

Another great one, Bob! I was out of pocket for awhile, and almost missed this one. I live in the outskirts of San Antonio, in a small hill country area called Canyon Lake. So I was immediately drawn to listen to this gem.

Your lyrics are always so imaginative and visual. Like I constantly say, you always challenge me to be a better writer. Thank you for posting this one!
