I've posted a few songs that began with MY version of BIAB looking for collaborators. This one happened in the reverse order. Jay Lindsey (of Mr. Jay fame) sent this "backing" to me. The progression was from a popular song he wanted me to try to warble over. (Bonus if you can name the song from the progression...I can't remember), For whatever reason I didn't feel moved to sing that song. Instead, I started writing after a few bars played on his demo.

I enlisted a couple of extra singers (Karl Cutruff and Trev Brown) and turned it into a party. Trev wrote his verse, I wrote the rest. Jay joined again at the end with some extra guitar. It was almost as much fun putting it together as it sounds.

I'd love nothing better than to be able to hang around and at least try to keep up with you good folks here, but all that will have to wait some longer. In the meantime, Happy New Year and keep the faith.

"I've been stoned. Been misused. Burned the candle on both ends and lit the fuse." is just one of many good lines.

Good vocals, the scats are fun too. And of course I always like hearing Jay do his thing.

I'm looking forward to you getting to a point where you can hang out here more often, but in the meantime I'm enjoying these blasts from the past, keep them coming!

Great song, enjoyed it. Guitar and vox were really exceptional. You asked for guesses on the chord progression, it could be Mojo Working by Muddy Waters or any of several similar tunes.

It reminded me a lot of the old Skynard song..... Call me the Breeze. It's got that jukin vibe.

Good old Rockabilly, I love it. You all did a fantastic job on this. The was fun listening and I'll bet you all had fun playing it.

And Guitarhacker, "Call me the Breeze" may very well have been the tune Jay wanted to do. I could have wailed on it back then in the right key.

To note: I seriously flubbed the lyric at the mic, but didn't realize it until much later. That's what "failure to practice" does, but in the end it was more about the performance than the words.

Still, if anybody ever wants to cover this, here's the faulty lines as written:

What a tune! The guitar and vox hit the ball out of the park for me. I loved the groove on this and the lyrics really paint a picture.
