Sounds fine, James. Sounds like it should be the backing track for a lyric.

Nice balanced mix.

Sounds like a modern ad backing track!

I like the wah wah rhythm guitar - it's just the right texture to counterpoint the piano.
It flows well and BIAB doesn't hiccough in any changes - cool.
It does offer a nice bed for a vocal melody.

Levels pleasantly balanced. A no-nonsense, no surprises chord progression that works well. I thought a little L/R separation between piano and guitar might enhance the overall effect.

James,

Yeah, I agree with those above . . . nice chord mix here with a clear melody that begs for lyrics. I’ll look forward to what direction you take this.

All my best,

Deej

Hello James,

This is a nice song, but maybe waiting for some vocals. And perhaps a bridge somewhere towards the end?

A good 1st instrumental for 2020...
I enjoyed listening to your creation!

Piano and wah guitar worked well together, which was a pleasant surprise for me. I enjoyed it.

Thanks again!

Hans: yes, I did not think of a bridge towards the end. I made more daring choices harmonically, I think, towards the end ... but the bridge is a thought!

Thanks for listening!

I think I'm starting to recognize some of your harmonic preferences. smile

It's a nice backing track, but I agree with others that instead of having the piano imply a melody, it would be nice to add a lead instrument or vocal.

Since it's pretty much the same instrumentation throughout, I'm with Hans - it would be nice to have a bridge or contrasting section to create some change, before finally returning back to the initial idea.

Pleasant listen.

Well done! It is a really nice chord progression, but - and I am sorry to repeat what others have said - a good vocalist or soloist would make the track even better!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi James,

a cool harmonic progression and a very nice backing track. The wah-wah is especially great - you don't heer it that often anymore these days.

Like Floyd wrote: Could be the perfect backing track for some vocals...

Cheers,

Stefan

Hi James,

This is nicely easy on the ears. It sounds like it's perfect for accompanying one of your recitatives. I enjoyed this groove and the smile that it brought to my face. Thank you.

All the best,
Noel
