I heard this song on the internet and decided to do a cover of it. The first time I heard this it took my breath away. I hope you enjoy it. I created it with my BIAB 2017 It is all real tracks, and I am singing using my Blue Yeti Microphone right in Band in a Box. I sure hope you enjoy it, it took me 6 hours to put this together.

Oh Shenandoah

Lyrics

Oh, Shenandoah, I long to see you,
Away, your rolling river
Oh, Shenandoah, I long to see you
Away, I'm bound away, cross the wide Missouri.

Oh, Shenandoah, I love your daughter,
Away, your rolling river
For her I cross your rolling waters
Away, I'm bound away, cross the wide Missouri.

Took seven years since last I've seen you
Away, your rolling river
Took seven years since last I've seen you
Away we're bound away, cross the wide Missouri.

Oh Shenandoah, I long to hear you
Away, your rolling river
Oh, Shenandoah, I long to hear you
Away we're bound away, cross the wide Missouri.

Oh, Shenandoah, I long to feel you,
Far Away, your rolling river
Oh, Shenandoah, just to be near you
Far Away, Far away across the wide Missouri

Do you know, I absolutely love this. Your voice has an ethereal quality to it that makes your rendition go from good to great, in my opinion. I would personally have done it a semitone or so lower, just to help with the higher register, but what do I know. It's really beautifully done - and that's all that matters! Well done.
Thanks. I worked on this for 6 hours. I can go from a real low key, into a way high register. Idk its just something I can do. This song just gave me chills when i heard it, so I had to do it.
Wow - very well done, and incredible you pulled it together in such a short amount of time. Your vocals on this are incredible captivating, and the way it flows with the instrumentation is gorgeous.

Thanks so much for sharing smile
Hello ...

This is my first time to listen to you. I've always loved this song. And, of course the Wide Missouri originates in your home state of Montana. I', originally from St. Louis, MO, where the Missouri River ends with its confluence with the Mississippi.

You have a unique and pleasant voice.. And you put together a terrific band for the song. Excellent ... loved my listen.

Best to you ...

Alan
I get captivaded by making music wether its my song or not. I have to sing these songs because it's in my heart. I sometimes write at night when it's quiet and settled down. I didn't get done with this one almost until 2:00 am. Thanks for listening and thanks for the compliment; the ultimate goal for me is to make music, and with Band in a Box I can do just that.
Thank GOD for Band in a Box, especially for a vocalist. I understand about Chords good enough now to create some of my own arrangement's. I have had the help of some friends with BIAB, Fellow users of this form. I just bought 2020, but I used my 2017 because I didn't have my 2020 drive hooked up. But this came out absolutely beautiful. I put a lot of work into the arrangement. I cried when I first heard this because all I could do was think about my mother who passed away from a brain tumor in 2017, I missed her so much when I heard another person sing this. Thank you for the great compliment. I have a very high register when I use it.
You did well with this.
I think you should consider another key.
Very nice Rob4580
Very pretty in general, but I'm going to agree with Rob4580 and suggest you try a lower key. Might be what you need to take this to the next level.
Here, I redone this with a lower key. I hope you enjoy it, here is the link: Oh Shenandoah
Here it is in a lower key: Oh Shenandoah Key of G
