Easygoing sad country song.

Well done, nice listen!

Is the main vocal leaning a bit to the right?
Country blues that works a treat.
On a side note I'd, personally, EQ away the click of the kick as the drums sound decidedly modern with more batter head than thwack.

Elliot,

A good early 90's style Country song. A nice write (lyrics would be nice).

I always disagree with ray about that drum sound - I think it sounds really good (Country radio kicks have had that sound since about 1995).

The backing is good.

The vocal has a good Country sound to it, but it gets too hot a number of times. The volume could be lowered a bit to let it sit in the mix just a bit more.

Good job overall.

Hello Elliot ...

Nothing better than good old country song! And this a great song and recording. Perhaps the vocal is just a bit too much forward in the mix. But, it certainly didn't detract from my enjoyment of your song. Love rasp in your voice, particularly in the chorus. This is really nice! loved my listen. Wishing you and yours the best. be safe ...

I am looking for a good country singer to lend their vocal talents to my songs. Anyone interested in collaboration?

Cool story, Elliott, and the right backing for it. Your voice seems perfect to me, except, as floyd said, it could sit softer in the mix. You bring out the emotion of your own words like no one else can. Oh, also, yes, please post the lyrics if you can. Take care!

You don't need a singer. Your vocal is perfect for this song. I think you can sing country like it should be sung.

This is what today's country should sound like. Great song, vocal, lyrics and mix.

I agree, no need for a new singer, your in house guy is just fine. Liked it a lot, very well done.

I agree with the comments praising the production, including your
excellent vocal. I would add the meaning of the story is very strong.
The story reflects the feelings of so many Americans who have seen
their cities and towns fall to outside agents, internationalists who
couldn't care less about the American people, and inside agents long
practiced in the techniques of selling out people and nations they have managed to gain residency and position.
Good job.

This is an excellent song. I really like the changeup around the 1:30 mark where you kicked it up a notch. You've done an impressive job of combining all those instruments and rhythms and keeping the interest up. Regarding the vocals, I agree with others - they fit perfectly. They need to be slightly gritty, but most importantly they need to be real, to match those sad, tough lyrics, and they are. I did think I heard a tad more volume on the vocals in the right channel as rayc mentioned, but I would need others to confirm. Lastly, just one tidbit - I don't know why, but at the beginning of the song, I was just lukewarm about it, but after about 30 seconds, I started getting it, then after about a minute, I was totally digging it.
