Fermoy is a small town in County Cork, Ireland, where my great-grandparents met.

The Fields Of Fermoy (2)
A total makeover of a piece I posted last year (last time I used WHIMSY.STY but the 2020 upgrade has a more comprehensive suite of styles, many of which better suit my compositions).

Hello, 'Ghostgum' ...

I think it would have been easy for me to guess that your composition, The Fields of Fermoy, was inspired by the memory of a highly favored and/or much-loved place, simply because of the emotional tone of the piece, which I perceived as nostalgic, and tender.

Also, I'm impressed by the number of instruments you employed -- eleven in all. I believe I heard clearly each and every one of them, so 'good job' on the mixing, sir!

The melody was memorable enough for me to imagine that it was composed to accompany lyrics. All in all, it was a gentle and serene listening experience that I would like to re-visit.

Truly,

LOREN (a.k.a. 'bluage')
