Hi all. This song is based around someone with Alzheimer's.
It is know that music can bring back lost memories for Alzheimer's patients.
As always all comments welcome. Keep safe. Rob4580

My Love My Wife My Friend

Im one day late and one dollar short.
I cant remember the things I ought.
Im last in line I feel a little bit strange.
I cant go home co's I missed the last train.
I struggle a touch to remember her name
I cant believe these things keep happening to me.
-------------------------------------------
When the music plays I see her face again.
My love my wife companion and good friend.
-------------------------------------------
You know your bound to get it right some time.
You know I like to walk in the sun shine

I took on life gave it all I had
Some times good but mostly bad
And regret the times I seemed to make her cry
Got a hot bowl of soup but Im using a fork.
Im all alone with nothing but thoughts.
Still cant believe these things are happening to me

Five-string fiddle plays a unique pizzicato part in this mountain folk Americana RealStyle.
Two identical acoustic guitars play together with the same-but-different feature, strumming
with accents on the offbeat. Acoustic bass alternates between the root and fifth with
attacks on the beat. This song is in the key of C (D)and uses major, minor,
and diminished chords.
These chords change every 1 to 4 beats.

My aunt had dementia, very sad thing indeed! I can't even imagine how frustrating that would be.

Good writing and a good song, well done!
Hi Dave. Thank you for listening and commenting.
Sorry to hear about you aunt. Rob4580
Rob,

A good write about a sad subject.

Well sung. Good mix.

Hey Rob,

Great lyrics about such an important topic. I think no one has ever written a song about Alzheimers until now. We are moved by your beautiful song.

Thank you very much for sharing.

Rebecca and Jochen
Rob,
A good write, well sung ( I liked the counterpoint chorus vocal) and the old time country style fits.
My mum had dementia and fought it like crazy - a few years ago I wrote a song to honour her struggle; I can relate to your lines!

Robert
Good sung, sung well. Love the chorus! Difficult subject handled well.
Cracker songer...
the bridge part
"When the music plays I see her face again.
My love my wife companion and good friend."
is killer.
It's a bit essy in the verses though Rob.
Thank you Floyd.
Always appreciate your take on things.

Very poignant, well sung and produced.

Nice song Rob!! Interesting you mentioned about music and the effect it can have on dementia. I saw part of a documentary about Glen Campbell. He did not know where he was, the year, or other ordinary things, but MAN he could still play and sing.....start the program and it came right out! Enjoyed this tune!! Take care. Greg
Rob

Sad song - very nice arrangement and well sung as always.

Peter
Rob,

Really strong offering—great mix and vocal work on this. It’s tough subject to write about, you’ve handled it deftly. Enjoyed it immensely!

All my best,

Deej
Hi Rob ...

I've looking forward to hearing this for the past few days. Many years ago, I too wrote a song about Alzheimers. So was very interested to hear your musical thoughts. It's much different from my song ... but a stellar song. This very well-written. An uplifting song about a horrible disease. My mother and former mother-in-law where shackled by its clutch. I can relate.

Maybe I'll rerecord mine sometime in the future and post it.

As always, loved your vocal. Great job in all respects. wishing you and yours the very best. be safe ...

Alan

Rob what a lovely song. Very moving and I'm sure we all know somebody who's suffered this rotten illness
Very sad lyric but excellent vocal delivery. Super backtrack. Well done
I love it. What a great arrangement. Outstanding lyrics and vocals. Very touching song. Way to go.

Hi Ray. Been messing round with different plugins.
Thank you for your comment.

My brother's mother-in-law just died of Alzheimer's. It was very sad seeing her waste away.

Your song is spot on about this awful disease. Your "When the music plays I see her face again. My love my wife companion and good friend." is one outstanding line.

This is one of if not your best to date.
Hello Rob4580,

It is a composition whose words with your voice and your accompaniment go straight to your heart. This composition is a real success.

Best regard
