Hi all,
Here's a french song.
My friend Christian Braut is singing.

https://soundcloud.com/christian-devienne/ma-vie-dantan

Here's an approximate translation :

The house seems lifeless
At least that's what we say to ourselves
My body is at Père Lachaise
But my soul remains in this chair
Waiting for the return
Of my soul mate
She who’s gone one day
Breaking my heart

And I hear children's laughter
Some crying and barking
I feel the warmth of my home
That fate granted me
Even though my life was beautiful
My soul is waiting
That reborns in a spark
My old life

Even though my life was beautiful
My soul is waiting
That reborns in a spark
My old life

A beautiful song, no question. The style and instrumentation is perfect. Perhaps the vocals are a little too much out in front.

Nevertheless, this is a beautiful presentation.

A nostalgic vibe with a modern twist.

The RT's and music mix are excellent. The vocal might be a bit forward, but no matter, the performance is excellent and a perfect match for the song.

I like this a lot.

Chris, I loved the point-of-view, and now I know what Pere Lachaise is--did you author the lyrics? They are really first-rate. Were you inspired by walking through the cemetary?

I like the very upfront, almost whispering vocal--I think this can be very hard to pull off from a mixing standpoint, but I think it fits for the meditative theme of your song.

Very nice chord movement and instrument selection.

Liked it alot!

Hello Chris37,

Nice words. The timbre of the voice fits in perfectly. Soft composition in its arrangement and with its nostalgic side.

Kindly regard

Romantic feel.
Well done!

Although I've never visited France nor do I speak the language, I struck up a relationship with a fine French musician.
She and I collaborated on several songs and shared song writing ideas.
She unexpectedly passed away and left me feeling empty.

Thanks for bringing back those nice memories.
